Once again WikiLeaks editor Julian Assange is shouting from the rooftops that the Russia government was not behind the data dumps released by his organization featuring damning evidence against officials with the Democratic National Committee and the campaign of Hillary Clinton.
But Assange went further in his criticism of the Obama White House. He sees a distinct political motive behind “the Russians hacked the election” phony narrative.
“They’re trying to delegitimize the Trump administration as it goes into the White House,” Assange said during an interview with Fox News’s Sean Hannity airing Tuesday night, according to a transcript of excerpts from the network.
“They are trying to say that President-elect Trump is not a legitimate president,” Assange said during the interview, which was conducted at the Ecuadorian embassy in London where he has been staying.
“Our publications had wide uptake by the American people, they’re all true,” Assange continued. “But that’s not the allegation that’s being presented by the Obama White House.”
As to the Russians? “Our source is not a state party, so the answer for our interactions is no,” he said.
Now, whether or not the leaked DNC and Clinton campaign documents changed the outcome of the election, Assange says there is no way of knowing.
“But if it did, the accusation is that the true statements of Hillary Clinton and her campaign manager, John Podesta, and the DNC head Debbie Wasserman Schultz, their true statements is what changed the election,” he said.
And for the record, none of the allegations made against key players in the DNC and Clinton campaign, along with their statements, have been refuted. Rather, the White House and Clinton herself, along with much of the discredited ‘mainstream media’ (though not all MSM), have pushed the phony hacking narrative as a way to de-legitimize Trump while “explaining” why Clinton lost.Click here for reuse options!
