Jeff Sessions’ longtime Dem colleagues preparing to stab him in the back during confirmation hearings

(NationalSentinel) Few people serving in the Senate today are better, more conscientious and decent than Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., President-elect Donald J. Trump’s more-than-qualified pick to become attorney general.

But despite two decades’ worth of friendship and a good working relationship, some of Sessions’ Democratic colleagues are preparing to knife him in the back, figuratively speaking, as they consider his nomination this week.

09-02-16-04-44-01_promo_article_160x600-option-2As reported by the Washington Times, Sessions can expect no decency or sense of fair play from hypocrite Left-wing cretins who give allegiance to party first and foremost:

Highlighting the deep partisan divide and the bad blood between Democratic lawmakers and President-elect Donald Trump, the same senators who have socialized and co-authored reams of legislation with Mr. Sessions are under pressure from liberal interest groups to air accusations that he is a racist, a sexist and a homophobe.

Mr. Sessions, who has held an Alabama seat in the Senate since 1997 and has served as the state’s attorney general and as a U.S. attorney, is expected to win confirmation from his colleagues, including support from several Democrats. But it won’t be pretty.

It’s the same old song-and-dance from the Left: Racist, bigot, homophone, yada, yada. They still don’t understand that these tactics don’t work anymore, and that is especially true of Trump’s supporters, who had plenty of opportunity to abandon him over controversial actions and remarks before Nov. 8 but didn’t.

And it speaks volumes about who the Democrats really are. They’re not interested in healing a bitterly divided country; in fact, they are responsible for most of the division. The only time they are interested in “bipartisanship” is when their party is in the minority. When they win, the call it a “mandate;” when they lose, they claim foul and seek to blame someone or something else (this time around it’s The Russians).

When it came to President Obama’s Cabinet picks, Senate Democrats chided Republicans who objected, calling them “obstructionists” while maligning them for doing their constitutional duty of providing advise and consent.

Democrats, of course, are also allowed to provide advice and consent, but dissenting from a Trump Cabinet pick ought to at least be based on something that is true. Sessions is no racist/homophobe/bigot/etc., and never has been. How do you call a man who has prosecuted a KKK member and did so in a way that ensured he got the death penalty for his hate crime?

Apparently, we’ll have to ask his Democratic colleagues–the same ones who used to work with him, but now want to stab him in the back.
