(NationalSentinel) As long as a far-Left demagogue was president, California officials had no problem with being part of the United States. But now that conservatives and the rest of the country have a champion in President Donald J. Trump, officials there think they have some sort of special right to ‘resist’ and ‘be on their own.’
Earth to California: You don’t, and if you don’t figure that out soon, the lesson you learn will be costly and painful.
In response to the Trump administration making an effort to actually enforce immigration laws, the angry Leftist kooks and perverts who run the Golden State have been openly mulling ways in which to thwart such enforcement, including, it seems, withholding taxes and other payments to the U.S. Treasury.
The state of California is studying ways to suspend financial transfers to Washington after the Trump administration threatened to withhold federal money from sanctuary cities, KPIX 5 has learned.
Officials are looking for money that flows through Sacramento to the federal government that could be used to offset the potential loss of billions of dollars’ worth of federal funds if President Trump makes good on his threat to punish cities and states that don’t cooperate with federal agents’ requests to turn over undocumented immigrants, a senior government source in Sacramento said.
“California could very well become an organized non-payer,” said Willie Brown, Jr, a former speaker of the state Assembly in an interview recorded Friday for KPIX 5’s Sunday morning news. “They could recommend non-compliance with the federal tax code.”
Earlier, California legislators essentially threatened the incoming administration by allowing a “Calexit”–secession–movement to begin and then flourish. Mind you, these are some of the same hypocrites who dismissed out of hand calls in Texas to secede from the Left-wing tyranny of the Obama administration. Of course, Texas never did, and that’s the point: Texans, though fiercely independent, understand federalism and the settled issue of secession.
There is no way California–no matter how much its leaders dislike our current president or its people stamp their feet and whine in protest–would ever succeed in court when it comes to withholding funds that rightfully belong to all of the American people, so short of outright war against the rest of the country (which it would lose), the notion that is being entertained here is little more than wishful thinking that could turn dangerous for the Golden State.
Since Trump’s victory over the hopelessly corrupt Hillary Clinton, the nation has had to endure the Left-wing anger-fest in California consisting mostly of people who are living a pipe dream thinking that because they want to now, they’re going to actually get to leave the union.
California isn’t leaving the United States anymore than it will be permitted to withhold funds it owes the U.S. Treasury. And if it’s out-there Leftist leadership thinks otherwise, they should probably put down the bong, grab a snack, and clear their heads before speaking again.
Meantime, we’ll have to listen to petty, little men and women wax poetic about ‘a country of their own’ until reality smacks them upside their heads and we all get a great laugh.
