Memo to McCain: Shut up, retire and go away

Don’t go away mad, senator, just go away

(NationalSentinel) Sen. John McCain, RINO-Arizona, is playing the role of ankle-biter again, picking at the Trump administration over its first military operation in Yemen, in which Navy SEAL Chief Petty Officer Ryan Owens was killed.

McCain is refuting the administration’s claim that the mission on which Owens died was a success – a refutation that is not sitting well with our commander-in-chief.

“Sen. McCain should not be talking about the success or failure of a mission to the media. Only emboldens the enemy! He’s been losing so..long he doesn’t know how to win anymore, just look at the mess our country is in – bogged down in conflict all over the place. Our hero….Ryan died on a winning mission ( according to General Mattis), not a “failure.” Time for the U.S. to get smart and start winning again!” President Donald Trump said in a series of tweets this morning.

The tweet storm followed comments by White House spokesman Sean Spicer, who said McCain ought to “apologize” to the Owens family and to the administration for publicly calling the mission a “failure.”

“I don’t need to listen to that,” McCain, a decorated Navy pilot who was held prisoner in Vietnam, told Bloomberg News. “My record speaks for itself.”

Spicer said yesterday that the mission was “absolutely a success. And I think anyone who would suggest it’s not a success does disservice to the life of Chief Ryan Owens. He fought knowing what was at stake in that mission. And anybody who would suggest otherwise, doesn’t fully appreciate how successful that mission was, what the information that they were able to retrieve was and how that will help prevent future terrorist attacks.”

To which McCain responded in a statement, in part: “While many of the objectives of the recent raid in Yemen were met, I would not describe any operation that results in the loss of American life as a success.”

So, would that include the entire Vietnam War, of which you played a small role in, senator, after losing some 58,000 service personnel?

How about operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, where we’ve also lost thousands of service personnel? Or any of the other special operations that you approved of before now, including the 100’s of drone strikes authorized by President Obama that also killed at least hundreds of civilians over the course of his eight years in office? Or those killed in the same manner by President Bush?

Senator, it’s bad enough that Arizonans keep sending you back to the Senate, where you are free to huddle and scheme with globalists and establishment types who see the world as yours to do with as you please. But it’s worse to play the role of a hypocrite, using the life of this Navy SEAL as an opportunity to score political points against a man you hate because has become something you failed to achieve – president of the United States.

Do America a favor, Sen. McCain, since you claim to care so much about the country – shut your mouth, pack your office and retire. That’s the best way you can “serve” moving forward. The president doesn’t need you nipping at his ankles the next four-to-eight years; he’s got Democrats who’ll do that for you.
