Group says getting rid of rogue bureaucrats thwarting Trump agenda would reduce fed workforce 10-20 percent

Federal agencies are rife with Trump political opponents

(NationalSentinel) President Donald J. Trump has already gotten pushback on his agenda from Left-wing careerists embedded within the massive federal bureaucracy. But the head of one organization said Trump can make good on a campaign pledge to “drain the swamp” by ferreting them out, reducing the workforce by “10 to 20 percent.”

As reported by Breitbart News, Rick Manning, head of Americans for Limited Government, is appealing to the GOP-held Congress to help Trump dispose of “rogue bureaucrats [who] are not serving the American people” by “cutting the personnel budgets of non-defense civilian departments and agencies, reducing the enacted full-time equivalent number for each department, agency and office by 10 to 20 percent reduction in the workforce on a last-one-in, first-one-out basis,” according to a statement released on Friday.

“By now it should be abundantly clear to the Trump administration that there are Obama administration holdovers in the 1.3 million non-defense, civilian federal workforce who have no other intention than to politically damage the White House,” Manning said.

Careerist bureaucrats are sabotaging Trump using many different techniques, Breitbart noted, including “secretly circulating emails among fellow ideologically committed members of the federal bureaucracy plotting strategy, to working behind the scenes with Democratic legislators to create out-of-the-ordinary bureaucratic actions, to leaking confidential documents to the press.”

Also, Twitter has become an outlet for federal workers disgruntled with Trump’s agenda.

FederalNewsRadio.com reported:

When a former employee of Badlands National Park took over the park’s official Twitter account to tweet climate change facts in direct defiance of the Trump administration, they couldn’t have known that they were starting a movement. Almost one month later, more than 80 accounts claiming to represent various federal organizations and employees, many of them national parks, exist in opposition to the Trump administration and its policies.

Such blatant disregard for the president, as well as the tens of millions of Americans who voted for him, is disgraceful. And it certainly underscores the need for Trump to clear out the bureaucracy of those who purposefully undermine him as head of the Executive Branch.

“The Obama bureaucrats’ brazen determination to overturn the will of the people is shocking and drives home the need for systemic civil service reform, including reining in the power of public employee unions which poison the non-partisan well that civil servants used to operate in,” Manning told Breitbart News about the Twitter accounts of federal bureaucrats seeking to undermine President Trump’s agenda.

The president and the American people deserve better. For Trump to truly “drain the swamp,” he and his Cabinet officials should begin weeding out the non-compliant and replacing them with workers who understand their job is to work for the American people, not certain presidents from certain political parties.

That is, if their jobs need to even exist in the first place.

They have a big job ahead of them. Here  are just a few stats that demonstrate the gravity of the problem facing Trump and his administration:

— Nearly 60 percent disapprove of Trump’s transition

— Some 97 percent of Department of Justice employees donated to Hillary Clinton

— 95 percent of donations from 14 federal agencies went to Clinton

“Government employees are, on balance, more moderate or more liberal as opposed to the general population,” David Schultz, a Hamline University Professor of Political Science, told The Hill. “Not across the board, but in general.”

Federal employees, of course, are free to support whomever they wish for elected office. But regardless of whom they pull the lever for, once they get out of the voting booth their political preferences should be left at the front door of whichever agency they work for. If not, then by all means Trump (and any president) should give them the boot.
