(NationalSentinel) Political Intrigue: Talk radio giant Rush Limbaugh was absolutely correct when he said on Wednesday during one of his opening monologues that President Donald J. Trump’s speech to Congress earlier this week has scared the bejesus out of the political Establishment.
For the first time, perhaps, the Deep State figured out a couple of things: 1) That Trump is dead serious about dismantling the Washington power structure and devolving that power back to the states and the people; and 2) he’s not the political rube and idiot they all thought he was.
“This story is not about Jeff Sessions. This story is not about illegal talks between Trump and his campaign people and the Russians. This story is about Barack Obama and the Democrat Party attempting to sabotage the Trump presidency and do everything they can to either render it meaningless and ineffective or to get him impeached or force him to resign. That’s what the story is. And that is what has to be attacked, not defended,” he said.
Spot-on. Which is why Americans cannot accept the premise that Attorney General Jeff Sessions and the entire Trump administration are somehow, someway, working with Russian President Vladimir Putin to undermine the U.S. electoral process to benefit the current occupant of the White House rather than his vanquished opponent, two-time presidential loser Hillary Clinton.
If you remember the reporting from yesterday (review it here), the latest accusations by the discredited mainstream media – which is once again playing the role of lackey for the Deep State – is that Sessions:
— Had ‘improper contact’ with the top Russian diplomat in Washington, D.C., twice the summer before the November elections;
— During the contact, he and the Russian ambassador ‘discussed’ the upcoming election in a way that suggested collusion, and;
— Then lied about the contact and discussions during his Senate confirmation hearing when Sen. Al Franken, D-Minn., asked him about a CNN report claiming ‘Trump surrogates’ were in contact with Russian operatives in the months before the election.
As we reported yesterday – and this is crucial – once more, there is no evidence of anything even remotely suggestive of Trump team contact and collusion with the Russians to ‘hack/steal the election’ from Clinton.
None. Zero. Nada. For if there were, these things would have happened prior to Nov. 8:
— The Obama administration, which designed and orchestrated the campaign to discredit Trump beginning months ago, would have announced it was ‘investigating possible Russian interference in the U.S. election to benefit Trump’ – if nothing else, as a distraction from the ongoing investigation in the Clinton’s use of a private email server during her tenure as secretary of state;
— If any such investigation had actually turned up any evidence of a crime, Trump’s responsible team members would have been charged – but none were.
Even the so-called “hack” of the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee has been called into question. In December the UK’s Daily Mail reported exclusively that the compromising data stolen from the email account of Clinton campaign manager John Podesta was given to Wikileaks by a DNC staffer upset at the way the Democratic Party was railroading Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., in favor of anointing Clinton.

Now, the is much hypocrisy in all of this, as Limbaugh points out. There was Bill Clinton’s ‘chance meeting’ with then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch on the tarmac of an airport in Arizona a week before FBI Director James Comey announced there would be no formal charges against Clinton despite the mountain of evidence that she compromised national security through mishandling of uber-sensitive intelligence data. There is Democratic Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (N.Y.) meeting with Putin in New York City in 2003 as Russian state oil company Lukoil opened a gas station in the city (no outrage). There is Obama, who failed to hold Clinton responsible for anything.
But Democrats never get held responsible for being hypocritical. Conservatives ought to realize that by now; the media isn’t going to do it (because they are of like mind) and fellow Democrats sure as hades aren’t going to hold each other to account.
That’s why the strategy here for the GOP and Trump supporters ought to be no acceptance of the premise that Sessions has done a damned thing wrong. He hasn’t. And as for this ‘Russia hacked the election’ narrative – where the hell is the actual evidence? Where is it?
There is none. This is nothing more than the latest Deep State operation to take out Trump or, at the very least, neuter him and ‘bring him around’ to the Washington power structure’s way of thinking. So accepting the premise that Sessions has done something wrong in the first place is a non-starter.
“Jeff Sessions is an honest man. He did not say anything wrong. He could have stated his response more accurately, but it was clearly not intentional,” the president said in a statement. “This whole narrative is a way of saving face for Democrats losing an election that everyone thought they were supposed to win. The Democrats are overplaying their hand. They lost the election and now, they have lost their grip on reality. The real story is all of the illegal leaks of classified and other information. It is a total witch hunt!”
That’s what you should garner from this latest assault on a duly-elected president. And never forget that the last president is knee-deep in all of this.
