Preet Bharara drama over firing as U.S. attorney completely typical of the whiny Left

This needed to happen, and probably sooner

By J. D. Heyes, editor-in-chief

(NationalSentinel) Judiciary: On Friday, as is his right, U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions sent a request to more than three dozen U.S. attorneys who had not yet resigned as is customary when a new administration takes office to kindly step down.

Now, of course, the Left is completely outraged and taken aback that this upstart AG, with the support of his equally upstart boss, President Donald J. Trump, would do such a thing.

Even though all administrations do such a thing and it is common knowledge among U.S. attorneys that they are expected to resign when a new occupant takes up residence in the White House, especially when the new guy is from a different political party.

All except Preet Bharara. For some reason he thought that Sessions’ order on Friday didn’t apply to him. Rather than resign as he was asked to do and expected to do, like a good lib he had to turn all of this into a spectacle. CNN reported:

Preet Bharara, the US attorney for the Southern District of New York, tweeted Saturday that he was fired after indicating he would not submit a letter of resignation as requested by President Donald Trump’s administration.

“I did not resign. Moments ago I was fired,” Bharara wrote on his verified Twitter account Saturday afternoon. “Being the US Attorney in SDNY will forever be the greatest honor of my professional life.”

The move placed the President in the position of having to fire Bharara in what became a public standoff. Acting Deputy Attorney General Dana Boente called Bharara on Saturday and asked if it was true that he was refusing to resign, a source told CNN. Bharara told him yes.

Boente then called Bharara back and said Trump was firing him, the source said.

Naturally, because it’s CNN, some Trump hate had to be thrown in for good measure:

A former FBI agent who requested anonymity to freely discuss the matter called Bharara’s firing “crazy,” saying he is a “rock star” in the law enforcement community.

The high-profile US attorney had been told after a meeting with Trump in November that he would stay on and felt blindsided by the move, sources told CNN.

Crazy, mind you. Just crazy.

Actually, the “crazy” thing is that it took so long for the White House to get around to this. Given all of the leaks and outright insubordination to Trump, there could have been no other way to handle it than to promptly, unequivocally bounce every U.S. attorney that Obama appointed.

That Bharara has become the libs’ cause celebre shouldn’t surprise anyone. During an appearance on Fox News‘ “Tucker Carlson” program last week, U.S. Rep. Patrick Maloney, D-N.Y., couldn’t stop singing Bharara’s praises in calling for him to investigate “perjury” committed by Sessions during the latter’s Senate confirmation hearings, though no such incident occurred.

The fact is, this is a step that needed to happen. Team Trump has been inundated with non-stop nonsense since taking office, and frankly the president needs more loyalty around him than he currently has.

If the Left is ticked off, so be it; the Left has been perpetually ticked off since their chronically investigated, two-time presidential loser of a candidate, Hillary Clinton, failed to generate enough interest to beat a former reality TV star and billionaire real estate mogul.

This is just the latest  measure Trump is taking to “Drain the Swamp.” We applaud him for it.
