(NationalSentinel) Congress: Sometimes, when something really important comes up and there’s no one else around to take care of it, you gotta work a little overtime.
Memo to Congress: This is one of those times.
That lawmakers are set to leave Washington for two weeks this month – and only working 8 days in all – as the country’s health coverage system collapses, is frankly unacceptable.
And yet Speaker Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell appear set to gavel their chambers out of session, while tens of millions of Americans cut back on necessities and work extra shifts to be able to afford skyrocketing health insurance premiums and out-of-pocket expenses.
That said, there should be no doubt by now whose fault this is: The Marxist Democratic Party and its titular leader, former President Obama, who gamed the system to pass Obamacare without a single Republican vote.
And there’s little question that Obama continued to game the system to ensure that the worst effects of his namesake legislation did not occur until he was on his way out the door.
But what’s done is done, and Republicans who now control Congress and the White House vowed repeatedly for seven years to dismantle this disaster, toss it in the garbage, and re-implement free-market reforms that encourage competition and innovation, which will lower premiums and provide Americans with tailored coverage more suitable to their needs.
No matter who was “at fault” for the failure of the first Obamacare repeal effort, the fact is it didn’t get done. And the fact is, it should have gotten done. The GOP has had seven years to craft repeal legislation that all factions of the Republican Party could agree on; where’s that bill?
As Americans continue struggling to pay for their health care and health coverage, they are putting in extra time on the job in order to come up with the money. It’s time for Republicans (and Democrats) in Congress to put in the extra time to get rid of this horrible burden laid upon the people by the Marxist Party.
Stay in town, ladies and gentlemen, and get it done. Work a little OT. You’re the only ones who can do this very important job.Click here for reuse options!
