(NationalSentinel) North Korea: For some reason known only to him, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un continues to poke the bear – that would be President Donald J. Trump – even as the U.S. builds up air and naval power off the coast of his country while conducting the necessary diplomacy needed before launching a massive strike against him.
His regime has released a new propaganda video which places the White House in crosshairs before it is destroyed. The video narrator declares “the enemy to be destroyed in our sites.”
As the Washington Post noted further:
The video comes at a particularly tense time in relations between North Korea and the United States, with the Trump administration sending warships to the region in a show of force against Kim Jong Un’s regime.
Earlier this week, North Korea conducted large-scale artillery drills, showing off conventional weaponry that can easily reach the South Korean capital of Seoul, home to some 25 million people.
President Trump, who has been urging China to apply pressure to North Korea and to act if Beijing doesn’t, convened congressional lawmakers Wednesday to brief them on the “very grave threat” posed by Pyongyang.
Meanwhile, a high-profile North Korean defector told NBC News earlier this month that the “world should be ready” because Kim is dedicated to not only developing nuclear weapons but also the technology to place warheads atop ICBMs capable of reaching the United States – and that he will use them to maintain his power.
“Once he sees that there is any kind of sign of a tank or an imminent threat from America, then he would use his nuclear weapons with ICBM,” said the defector, Thae Yong Ho, adding Kim is “desperate in maintaining his rule by relying on his [development of] nuclear weapons and ICBM.”
Though was not directly involved in North Korea’s weapons program but believes his country “has reached a very significant level of nuclear development.”
“If Kim Jong Un has nuclear weapons and ICBMs, he can do anything,” he said. “So, I think the world should be ready to deal with this kind of person.”
Of course, if Kim were to strike the U.S. with a nuclear device (in a port or harbor) or an ICBM, his country would cease to exist 45 minutes later and there isn’t anything anyone in Moscow or Beijing could say about it.
But obviously the goal of any preemptive military strike would be to negate that possibility from every becoming a reality. The Trump administration appears to have decided on that course.
