(National Sentinel) Executive Branch: When President Obama and his foreign policy staff decided to screw Israel, Saudi Arabia and every other real or tenuous U.S. ally in the Middle East to “engage” arch-enemy Iran with a “deal” that led to cash payments, an ending of sanctions and, eventually, nuclear weapons, Americans knew nothing about it until the administration decided to tell us.
Why? Because nobody in Obama’s intelligence community leaked the information to the Washington Post or The New York Times. Right or wrong, Obama was free to conduct his foreign policy as he saw fit.
President Donald J. Trump has had no such luxury. The man can’t even discuss previously leaked intelligence with a foreign diplomat in the Oval Office without it being splashed all over the front pages of the Establishment media.
The leaks have gotten so bad that our closest ally, Great Britain, has even stopped sharing some intelligence with us regarding the Manchester bombing, because some traitorous so-and-so leaked sensitive details about the attack to The New York Times even as British intelligence and police were still piecing together what happened and closing in on suspects.
And now, even “journalist” Geraldo Rivera says the president has got to clean house.
Speaking on “Fox & Friends” on Saturday, Rivera said “rats” who have been “seduced by the media” are largely responsible for the leaking.
“I have a picture of my friend at his desk in the Oval Office, with his shiny shoes,” he said. “President Trump is trying to do his job in the Oval Office, and he’s got rats scurrying over his shined shoes. You know, rats, rats, rats. That office is infiltrated with rats,” he said, commenting on the often classified leaks from the CIA, FBI and NSA – and perhaps the Oval Office as well.
“They leak everything that they have. They use it as a currency. They are seduced by reporters on expense accounts,” he said. “They think they know better than whoever’s in the Oval Office, what’s good for the country.”
He also noted that their deep-seated hatred for Trump is also driving the leaking.
“That adds fuel to it … It is also an ideological mission,” he said. “It is a mission now to take down this man. And I just think that it is so unfair.”
Glenn Greenwald, of the Left-leaning site The Intercept, saw this coming.
“Their most valuable instrument is the U.S. media, much of which reflexively reveres, serves, believes, and sides with hidden intelligence officials,” he wrote in January. “And Democrats, still reeling from their unexpected and traumatic election loss, as well as a systemic collapse of their party, seemingly divorced further and further from reason with each passing day, are willing — eager — to embrace any claim, cheer any tactic, align with any villain, regardless of how unsupported, tawdry, and damaging those behaviors might be.”
And right on cue, on Friday, the Post published another story based entirely on unsubstantiated leaks – that the president’s trusted advisor and son-in-law, Jared Kushner, allegedly tried to set up a back channel communications operation with Russia during the transition, perhaps out of fear of leaks (go figure!) by the outgoing Obama administration and, of course, the Deep State. If true, how prophetic. But really, as we reported yesterday, a closer read of the story reveals that it, too, is just another innuendo piece, a nothing burger.
But the Deep State may have stepped in deep doo-doo with the president this time by picking on Kushner. As Lifezette reported Sunday, Trump is returning from his first, and largely successful, overseas trip energized to get to the bottom of all of this leaking.
And he will start in the West Wing:
Inside the West Wing, discovering and prosecuting those responsible for the constant drumbeat of leaks has become a top priority. While most of the focus has been on current U.S. intelligence personnel and former Obama administration officials, there is now increasing concern that some of the recent leaks involving Kushner could be coming directly from the West Wing.
“It is sad there are so many insecure people in the West Wing, who don’t care about serving their country or pushing the president’s agenda,” one source within the Trump White House’s inner circle told Lifezette.
When pressed about the “insecure people,” the source demurred.
“Instead, they are solely focused on themselves and planting false stories, to put targets on other people’s backs, to shift attention from their own records,” the source noted.
Whoever is responsible, Trump and Attorney General Jeff Sessions are in no mood to put up with the leaking. Trump vowed to prosecute the leaks “to the fullest extent of the law” while still in Europe.
Also, the White House may have already identified some of the leakers. We cited an exclusive One America News Network report last week which said Trump is set to fire “multiple staffers” – at least three – upon his return from overseas.
