Sponsors dumping NYC ‘Shakespeare in the Park’ production depicting murder of Trump

(National SentinelEntertainment: When former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly’s alleged sexual misconduct became too much of an issue for many of his show’s advertisers, they bailed on him right and left.

chief-organics-msmAt the time many complained of a double standard in which advertisers were quick to jump ship from “controversial” conservative programming but not Left-wing programming.

They can’t make that claim any longer.

As we reported earlier this month, Shakespeare in the Park, an annual summer program by The Public Theater that puts on plays by William Shakespeare in Central Park, New York City, altered its classic Julius Caesar to reflect modern American politics, replacing Caesar with a President Donald J. Trump look-alike and then “murdering” him in the senate.

The disgusting display was just the latest attempt by the entertainment industry to fantasize legally about killing our president.

And now, the play is losing advertisers, as reported by the far-Left NY Daily News:

Delta Airlines and Bank of America pulled out of their sponsorship of New York’s Public Theater on Sunday over a production of “Julius Caesar” that reimagines the main character as President Trump.

Shortly after Delta, who was a four-year sponsor, made its announcement, Bank of America yanked its support as well.

“I wonder how much of this ‘art’ is funded by taxpayers? Serious question, when does ‘art’ become political speech & does that change things?” Donald Trump, Jr., tweeted on Sunday, in response to a Fox News report (rightfully) claiming the production mimics the assassination of Trump in a way the violent Left would never have tolerated if the presidential victim had been, say, Barack Obama.

But then again, no one in the entertainment world would have changed Julius Caesar‘s characters to resemble President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama.

This loss of advertising revenue likely won’t change producers’ minds about continuing to fantasize about murdering Trump, but it is good to see advertisers standing up against tastelessness, no matter who it involves.

My husband is part of the million mile United airlines club which also sponsors this dreck. We as a nation have gone way over the top with violent rhetoric. It has to stop. The only way to stop it is to hurt those that finance it.
I ask everyone in the million mile club to email United and tell them to stop financing this destructive performance.
Please, stop it. The harm you are doing to our country far outweighs the orgasm you get from it.
Write to United Airlines and tell them to stop it.
