(National Sentinel) Unrest: The day before a Left-wing kook took a rifle and wounded House Majority Whip Steve Scalise and others in an attempt to “kill as many Republicans as possible,” radio talk show giant Michael Savage presciently warned his audience about of violence by “marginal” people who are set to explode and “kill somebody.”
And while James T. Hodgkinson, 66, was not successful in assassinating any GOP lawmakers (yet – Scalise is in critical condition as of this writing), Savage’s read of the nation’s political tea leaves was spot-on.
As reported by WorldNetDaily:
Savage, the host of the nationally syndicated “The Savage Nation,” was commenting on recent developments that have escalated the anti-Trump “resistance,” such as comedian Kathy Griffin’s ISIS-style photo shoot of the decapitated likeness of Trump and the “Julius Caesar” play in Central Park featuring the assassination of a Trump-like figure.
“I don’t know how much more of this the country can take,” Savage said.
“We are at a boiling point. There’s going to be a civil war,” he told his listeners Tuesday.
Clearly, the nation’s political tensions are higher now than they’ve been in decades – even more so than the tumultuous 1960s, some believe.
“If they keep this up, I’m telling you there’s going to be an explosion in this country,” Savage said Tuesday, in reference to the far-Left and their Democratic allies in Congress who have gone out of their way to stoke violence and hatred against President Donald J. Trump and Republicans in general.
Though there have been many prior examples, Savage cited the Shakespeare in the Park production of Julius Caesar, in Central Park, New York City, as emblematic of the Left stoking hate and violence against their political opponents. The classic is set in Roman times but its main character, Caesar, is a Trump look-alike who is “killed” on the floor of the Senate by Brutus. Caesar’s wife is the spitting image of first lady Melania Trump.
Savage went on to note that nothing had been done to stop the Central Park play, “when it’s clearly illegal to assassinate a president, even in a mock way.”
Though some sponsors have abandoned the production while tens of millions of Americans have denounced it, the production is continuing – despite Wednesday’s attack by a known Left-wing activist who no doubt was driven to act on his long-simmering rage against Republicans in part by the Democrats’ incessant stoking of hate.
“Do you understand that there are people out there who are marginal, who are going to go off like a rocket and kill somebody?” Savage asked.
“Do you understand what this left-wing is becoming in this country?”
Talk radio king Rush Limbaugh made similar points on his program this week too. He noted after word of the attack on GOP lawmakers spread that “at some point,” the extreme Trump resisters “are gonna crack, and they’re not gonna just start cutting heads off of dolls, and they’re not gonna just start using fake knives to stab people at Central Park.”
