(National Sentinel) Fraud: You would think that as hysterical as Leftists are about hate crimes – those which merit extra punishment due to the mind-reading capabilities of some courts and juries – they would be up in arms demanding justice from three fraudsters who faked a “hate crime” in order to gin up hate for political opponents.
As Breitbart News reports, three black female students who attended the University of Albany in New York were essentially given wrist slaps – probation – after fraudulently claiming they were assaulted by ‘white racists’ Jan. 13, 2016.
Former students Asha Burwell and Ariel Agudio are the final two to face sentencing for the alleged false hate crime report. Both received three years of probation and 200 hours each of community service…
Along with student Alexis Briggs, Burwell and Agudio alleged that a group of white men attacked them on a bus. The women charged that they were called the N-word and verbally assaulted. They also engaged in a physical confrontation with some of the bus riders but claimed the others started the incident.
The so-called hate crime was whipped into a frenzy on the Albany campus and even sponsored the Twitter hashtag campaign, #DefendBlackGirlsUAlbany. At one point, NFL players and rap singers joined the activism to decry the attacks on the three students. Even Hillary Clinton jumped in to make political hay off the purported hate crime.
And of course the alleged attack drew in all the usual suspects: Black Lives Matter speakers, other Left-wing demonstrators and a whole lot of Trump hate.
But then cops got to reviewing the cell phone footage of fellow passengers on the bus, discovering that the women were lying; less than a month later, cops charged them with filing a false hate crime report.
Incredibly, the trio initially touted their innocence and thus refused a plea bargain. Eventually one of them – Alexis Briggs – cracked and admitted the “attack” was BS.
Last year, Briggs pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct, apologized for lying, and was handed probation and 100 hours of community service.
But as you might suspect, no one from the perpetually angry Left is rising up to admonish these girls for their phony-baloney claims, even to let them know there false charge now makes it harder for real victims of such crimes to be heard and believed.
As for “hate” crimes, what’s the point? A crime is a crime, whether someone had “hate” in their heart when they committed it or not. To add extra punishment onto a crime for assuming that ‘hate’ was involved is asinine and, frankly, impossible to prove without an admission – but, apparently, all too easy to fake.
