(National Sentinel) Political theater: Well, that was quick.
President Donald J. Trump’s been in office now for less than six months, and Democrats — insulted daily by his presence in the Oval Office and frustrated that their propaganda division, i.e. the Establishment media, can’t take him out, have decided to roll the impeachment dice.
As reported by The Hill, Rep. Brad Sherman (D-Calif.) formally introduced an article of impeachment against President Trump on Wednesday, charging him with ‘obstructing justice’ for firing former FBI Director James Comey…which presidents, as head of the Executive Branch, have every right and all the authority to do.
In his article, Sherman claims “high crimes and misdemeanors” were committed by the president when he dared to act presidential, claiming that Trump somehow abused his power by letting Comey go during the FBI’s ongoing investigation into the so-called “Russia collusion” investigation — which, by the way, is ongoing.
White House officials have said that the firing of Comey was tied to a loss of confidence in him by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who has reaffirmed his loss of confidence after sending the president a letter shortly before he fired Comey detailing his loss of confidence.
Trump, meanwhile, deigned to admit on NBC a short time later that yeah, Comey’s continued pursuit of the “Russia” investigation did indeed play into his decision to cut him loose; Trump was frustrated that the investigation was continuing despite the fact that he was not a suspect (as Comey told him) and there had been no evidence produced after a year to prove the allegations.

But so what? Real constitutional experts — not Democratic hacks like Sherman — have said Trump had every right to do fire Comey, as well as any other Executive Branch appointee he choses to let go. These people serve at the president’s pleasure, not at the pleasure of Democrats when it suits their political agenda.
Sherman so far has only one supporter on his article of impeachment: Rep. Al Green (D-Texas), who previously called for Trump’s impeachment on the House floor. Both of these goofballs are tilting at windmills; the GOP-controlled House isn’t about to move on this nonsense, in large part because the president hasn’t done anything even remotely approaching an impeachable offense.
This is the mother of all political stunts, but by all means, we encourage unhinged Democrats to remain unhinged and continue to be so afflicted with Trump Derangement Syndrome they overreach into an even small minority come 2018 and beyond.
Should be fun to watch.
