(National Sentinel) Domestic terrorism: The White House said Friday that President Donald J. Trump and members of his administration are taking the rising domestic terrorism threat posed by Alt-Left Antifa thugs very seriously.
“I think we’re certainly constantly monitoring all violence across the country as best we can, and it’s something certainly that the Department of Homeland Security and the administration takes very seriously and is constantly looking for ways to end all violence in all forms,” White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said in response to a question from Breitbart News. “So certainly that would qualify.”
Sanders’ response comes amid reports last week that the FBI and DHS had identified Antifa as a threat and had labeled the group “domestic terrorists” in an April 2016 report.
Trump was vilified by the Left-leaning “mainstream” media, Democrats and even some congressional Republicans for saying that Alt-Left Antifa demonstrators were equally responsible for the deadly violence that occurred during a clash with right-wing neo-Nazis and white supremacists in Charlottesville, Va., last month.
But as we reported Friday, DHS and the FBI were well aware of the threat posed by Antifa thugs long before Trump ever called them out.
Federal authorities have been warning state and local officials since early 2016 that leftist extremists known as “antifa” had become increasingly confrontational and dangerous, so much so that the Department of Homeland Security formally classified their activities as “domestic terrorist violence,” according to interviews and confidential law enforcement documents obtained by Politico.
Following the Charlottesville violence, Trump did specifically single out neo-Nazis and white supremacists for criticism, but his overarching theme was that both Right and Left groups were at fault.
DHS and the FBI have agreed — long ago. But now the question has to asked: How come the Obama administration didn’t arrest Antifa “protesters” on charges of terrorism if it was classifying them as such?
