Left-wing hate against Sheriff Arpaio continues as federal judge may refuse to vacate conviction after Trump pardon

The Left’s harassment of an honorable man who tried to do his job continues

(National SentinelInjustice: The Left-wing federal judge who railroaded former Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio with a conviction for defying an improper order to end his department’s practice of detaining individuals suspected of being in the country illegally may now refuse to vacate the conviction, despite him being pardoned by President Donald J. Trump.

As reported by The Daily Caller, U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton, who was appointed by President Bill Clinton, says the Trump administration will need to convince her to drop Arpaio’s conviction. Bolton was the judge who handed it down earlier this summer.

As the Washington Post notes, according to Nixon v. United States, a presidential pardon only voids punishment for a crime — it does not necessarily rescind a conviction. So naturally, since the Left has been targeting Arpaio for years because they hate the fact that he was enforcing federal immigration laws, they are continuing to look for any way possible keep up their harassment.

The Daily Caller highlights this legal harassment by noting further:

Bolton has scheduled a hearing for next month, and Arpaio may be able to argue his case without opposition. His former federal prosecutors have backed his call for the conviction to be dropped, according to AZ Central, but Bolton claimed the federal government didn’t cite any existing precedent to support their request to drop the conviction.

A number of “civil rights” organizations — who, when it comes to immigration-related issues, always seem concerned for everyone on the planet except American citizens — have lined up to file suit to ensure that Arpaio’s conviction stands.

Even if it does, the man’s not going to jail; he’s been pardoned so he won’t spend any time behind bars — which proves again that the Left is doing all of this just to hate on him a little more.
