(National Sentinel) Executive Branch: The #nevertrump virus is spreading to the ranks of the GOP, according to one congressional Democrat who claims he knows some Republicans who would support the impeachment of President Donald J. Trump.
“I have other Republicans, just like Sen. Bob Corker suggested, who have told me on a constant basis that they know this man is not balanced, that he is not capable of continuing to lead us.”
That said, Cohen is at least coherent enough to realize impeachment is a long shot, at best.
“The Republican base is still supportive of Trump,” he said. “That’s who’s strong in their primaries and politically, they can’t come out and say it.”
Make no mistake about it, this #nevertrump virus has nothing to do with the president’s competence; it’s just cover for their anger at seeing such a boss outsider whip their asses in the primaries and the polls and take the reins of power away from them in such a commanding fashion.
Besides, these same Republicans have been nakedly hostile to the president since he won in November (Corker and that perennial pain in the ass, Sen. John McCain, come immediately to mind); putting their names to a potential impeachment charge would be nothing to them, given that they couldn’t care less about what their voters think.
Trump as president really is the best thing to happen to America since Ronald Reagan, as evidenced by the America-is-great, America-first speech he gave to the Heritage Foundation last night.
If you missed it, here it is:
What a breath of fresh air.
Impeach this man? Good luck with that.
