(National Sentinel) Politicizing the Fallen: Former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly smells a rat in regards to the brouhaha between President Donald J. Trump and a Gold Star family regarding the loss of their son and husband.
On Wednesday U.S. Rep. Frederica Wilson, D-Fla., who almost no one has heard off outside her district and is most often seen wearing goofy, sequined cowboy hats, made a stunning claim: The president, during a phone call to console the wife and family of U.S. Army Sgt. La David Johnson disrespected them and the fallen.
Wilson told CNN that Trump told the family that Johnson, a Special Forces soldier who was one of four killed last week in Niger when their patrol was ambushed, that “he knew what he signed up for, but I guess it still hurt.”
The Florida rep claims she was present when Trump made the phone call. Trump, for his part, has strenuously denied Wilson’s claims and says he has “proof” she’s lying.
For his part, O’Reilly says the entire episode smells like a set-up.
“No proof needed for the media which immediately reported the Congresswoman’s allegations as truth,” he wrote on Twitter.
O’Reilly then noted that, as usual, the disgustingly dishonest “mainstream” media is merely accepting the accusations as being true despite there being no proof or evidence provided to the public.
“I don’t know what was said, and neither does any other member of the press. But this whole thing has the look of a setup, does it not?” he asked.
As we noted, Trump has denied the claims, and he took to Twitter, as he usually does, to defend himself — since few in the MSM will.
Wilson told CNN host Alisyn Camerota Wednesday on “New Day” that she stood firm in her claims.
“I have proof, too,” Wilson said. “This man is a sick man.”
Gee…how many Democrats have been saying for weeks now that “Trump is a sick man” as they continue to push for his removal from office under the 25th Amendment, which states presidents can be removed by a majority of his Cabinet or Congress if he is “deemed” unfit.
The Democrats are playing the long game here. They are gambling that they’ll win back Congress at some point during Trump’s presidency so they can use all of these fake ‘instances’ of his ‘mental unfitness for office’ to justify removing him.
O’Reilly’s instincts are right. This smells like a big, fat setup.
And oh, by the way, Wilson later admitted in an interview with ABC News that no, she “didn’t hear the entire conversation.”
When pressed, she demurred again, saying she “just can’t remember everything that he (Trump) said. But that stood out in everyone’s heart on the call. You don’t say that.”
For the record, a Gold Star father defended the president and told CNN that his words are being “misconstrued.”
Craig Gross, whose son was Cpl. Frank Robert Gross, said Trump’s “words are basically being taken and misconstrued.”
“President Trump is doing a lot of good things as far as Gold Star families are concerned,” Gross said. “I believe that if you interviewed him personally, one on one, you would find that he is very, very empathetic and very compassionate, not only toward Gold Star families but also in regards to our active duty.”
