(National Sentinel) Domestic Terror: Americans are still waiting for answers about why long-time Las Vegas regular Stephen Paddock opened fire on a large crowd of concert-goers from the 32nd story of the Mandalay Bay Oct. 1. And now they are sure to have more questions.
As reported by ABC News, the hard drive of a laptop found in Paddock’s hotel room is missing, which is depriving investigators of potentially valuable information into him and the motives for his attack.
The report said that Paddock is believed to have removed the device before he shot himself ahead of police breaching his hotel room, but it has not yet been recovered, sources told the news network.
In addition, investigators looking into the largest mass murder in U.S. history say Paddock purchased software that allowed him to erase hard drives, but without the physical drive it’s not clear he ever used it.
Previous reports noted that Paddock spent months assembling an arsenal, part of which he used to kill 58 and wound more than 500 people attending a country music festival at the Route 91 venue across the street from his hotel.
What’s so intriguing about Paddock is that other mass murders have left writings or other evidence indicating a motive; he, however, has not.
There is also this: One of Paddock’s brothers, Bruce Paddock, 58, has been detained in North Hollywood on suspicion of crimes related to child pornography. He was arrested Wednesday morning.
