Mueller sent ‘wide-ranging’ request for documents from DoJ; wants Comey and Sessions-related emails

(National SentinelRussian Collusion: Special counsel Robert Mueller has sent over a “wide-ranging” request for documents from the Department of Justice, including requests for any emails related to the firing of former FBI Director James Comey, ABC News reported.

In addition, Mueller — who was appointed to look into alleged “collusion” between the Trump campaign and Russia — also wants any emails related to Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ decision to recuse himself from any Russia-related probe undertaken by the Justice Department.

A source who has not actually seen the requests but was informed about them also noted that they were made within the past month. The directive “marked the special counsel’s first records request to the Justice Department, and it means Mueller is now demanding documents from the department overseeing his investigation,” ABC News reported.

Sessions and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein were key figures in Comey’s firing. The AG has been heavily criticized by President Donald J. Trump over his recusal, with the head of the Executive Branch even saying over the summer he would have nominated someone else to the AG post if he had known Sessions was planning his recusal.

Also, Trump has hit Sessions over Rosenstein’s appointment of Mueller, hinting that it would not have happened had Sessions not recused himself.

ABC News noted further:

Mueller’s investigators now seek not only communications between Justice Department officials themselves, but also any communications with White House counterparts, the source said. Before this request, investigators asked former senior Justice Department officials for information from their time at the department…

The documents request suggests that Mueller’s team is still trying to determine whether the White House had made any attempts to improperly influence an ongoing investigation into Trump-Russia collusion allegations.

Before firing Comey, both Sessions and Rosenstein drafted memos in which they faulted the former FBI director over his handling of the Hillary Clinton email scandal.

Others have suggested that Mueller may be acting on behalf of Comey, who is known to be a long-time friend and associate of the special counsel.

  1. There are times I wonder if Mueller and Sessions are playing good cop, bad cop. For instance, the case against Manafort was refused by Loretta Lynch, probably because she knew that any supposed crimes committed by Manafort would have been committed while he was actively working with the Podesta Group. It all happened rather suddenly, Manafort indicted, Podesta Group financial records subpoenaed, Tony Podesta steps down from his lobbying firm, his replacement at the firm told employees that they would no longer be employed after November, replacement states that she is opening a new lobbying firm with some of the old Podesta group employees.

800 sealed indictments around the nation when typically the number is around 200.

30+ sealed indictments in D.C. and another 50 in the state of Virginia.

The Saudi Prince that was bankrolling the Clinton Foundation and Never Trumpers was also a client of the Podesta Group. He has been arrested in Saudi Arabia with the rest of the deep state connected, terrorist funding, radical members of the Saudi crown family.

QAnon keeps publishing breadcrumbs on 4chan and President Trump keeps dropping subliminal messages in his speeches and Tweets.

From what I understand another political bombshell is dropping this week in relation to Congress and how they do things that are due to anger both the Right and the Left.

So much critical news is being broken all the time. The most exciting political time period I’ve ever had the pleasure of witnessing.

What a time to be alive
