(National Sentinel) Racism Faked: A black man has been arrested after being caught on video vandalizing five black churches in New Jersey, apparently in an attempt to gin up charges of racism against African-Americans.
Zuri C. Towns, 45, confessed to breaking signs and windows at the predominantly African-American churches, according to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, the New York Post reported.
Authorities had announced that they were investigating the cases as racially biased.
But after catching Towns — who is black — they say they are no longer probing the vandalizing.
Towns has been charged with four counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief and one count of third-degree criminal mischief.
As incidents mounted, police launched an investigation into potential racial bias as the motive behind the attacks. Governor-elect Phil Murphy tweeted his condemnation of the “cowardly acts.”
Also, the pastor of Bethel A.M.E. Church said some church members had become so upset by the attacks they chose not to attend services on Sunday.
