(National Sentinel) Systemic: A former assistant director of the FBI says he believes that the upcoming Justice Department Inspector General’s report from Michael Horowitz will contain explosive revelations.
“The behavior, if it’s manifested in the action with your thumb on the scale of a particular investigation, one way or the other, that’s borderline criminal behavior — manipulating an investigation,” former FBI official Chris Swecker told Fox News‘ “Outnumbered” program.
“I think this IG report is going to be particularly impactful, more so than any of these useless congressional investigations. I think you’re going to see some pure TNT come out in this IG report,” he added.
Some believe that Horowitz’s report will contain especially damning information on the roles played by former FBI Director James Comey, retiring Asst. Director Andrew McCabe, deputy director of counterintelligence Peter Strzok, and others involved in the Hillary Clinton email investigation.
In particular, investigative journalist is Sara A. Carter told Fox News recently that Horowitz is investigating whether McCabe asked bureau agents to “change their 302s.”
“I have been told tonight by a number of sources … that McCabe may have asked FBI agents to actually change their 302s,” Carter told host Sean Hannity, as reported by PJ Media.
The site noted further:
The 302 form contains information from the notes an FBI agent takes during an interview of a subject. It is used by FBI agents to “report or summarize the interviews that they conduct.”
“So basically every time an FBI agent interviews a witness, they have to go back and file a report,” Carter said.
Hannity pointed out that, if true, it would constitute a case of obstruction of justice, to which Carter agreed.
“If this is true — and not just alleged — if this is true, McCabe will be fired,” Carter said. “They are considering firing him in the next few days. If this turns out to be true.”
