Gingrich: It’s a ‘disgrace’ the Senate continues to tolerate Chuck Schumer’s obstructionism of Trump’s appointees

(National SentinelPolitical: Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich launched into Republican leaders in the Senate on Friday, calling it a “disgrace” that they continue to tolerate Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s delaying tactics regarding President Donald J. Trump’s nominees.

“I think we’re at a historic turning point,” Gingrich said on Fox News‘ morning “Fox & Friends” program. “We have tolerated Schumer behaving as though he is the majority leader for well over a year.

“This is an unprecedented assault on American representation in terms of ambassadors, in terms of filling slots in the government,” he continued.

“It is totally unacceptable,” the former House Speaker and Georgia Republican noted further. “I think the burden is on the Senate Republicans to either dramatically, radically shorten the tools of the minority, or, to force Schumer to voluntarily go along.

“But, I think it is a disgrace that the U.S. Senate has tolerated this and everywhere you look around the world, whether it’s in Berlin, or in Luxembourg, in ambassadorships, whether it’s in jobs in terms of the executive branch,” he added.

“This is a grave disservice.”

Gingrich said that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., should short debate on the president’s nominees to no more than an hour.

The root cause of the disgrace are the corrupt phony conservatives the party placed into leadership positions. They detest grassroots conservatives.
