Is Dem Sen. Joe Manchin going to switch parties?

(National SentinelNot a RINO: Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia, facing a tough reelection bid this year, might be considering switching to the Republican Party, according to the governor of his state.

Gov. Jim Justice, once a Democrat who made the switch to the GOP after President Donald J. Trump’s victory, said he’s talked to Manchin about making the jump.

Joe and I had discussions along those lines,” Justice told Fox News‘ “Fox & Friends” program Thursday.

“I wish Joe was a Republican to tell you the truth,” he said.

“But to just tell it like it is, Joe’s got to do his thing and I’ve surely got to do mine and the president has got to do his. We need Joe’s vote.

“And to be perfectly honest, you know, this nation needs to get behind our president in a great way every day,” Justice noted.

For his part, Manchin has been trending more conservative in the past year or so.

He appeared on CNN’s “New Day” in January saying the country needed to build Trump’s proposed border wall.

He returned to CNN to rebuke House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s immigration talking points a few days later.

In addition, he also appeared on “Fox & Friends” in January and criticized fellow Democrats for being disrespectful during Trump’s State of the Union address.

“That’s the way I was raised in West Virginia. We have respect. There is civility still yet,” he said.

How about getting a new candidate, a real conservative, instead of creating another RINO to please McConnell?

Truly, power corrupts. Manchin ditching principles.

Joe is probably catching hell from Schumer for his conservative leanings. He voted for Kavanaugh and clapped at the State of the Union address when Trump pushed for the wall. He needs to switch parties. Life will be a lot easier for him. I welcome him in!!
