(National Sentinel) Left-Wing Intolerance: Canadian country music star Shania Twain made an unforgivable faux pas in an interview with the uber-liberal Guardian newspaper, whose fading circulation, reach, and influence has left the paper begging readers for cash.
She dared praise President Donald J. Trump, albeit in an off-handed way.
In the interview, Twain said had she been an American citizen, she would have cast her ballot for Trump because she believed him to be “honest.”
“I would have voted for him because, even though he was offensive, he seemed honest,” Twain said. “Do you want straight or polite? Not that you shouldn’t be able to have both.
“If I were voting, I just don’t want bullsh*t. I would have voted for a feeling that it was transparent. And politics has a reputation of not being that, right?” she continued.
Trigger the perpetually triggered and always angry and offended Left.
Because in this day and age, you can’t say anything nice about Trump to a Democrat without them balling up their fists, shutting down their minds, and becoming overwhelmed with rage.
Oh, and calling you every name in the book because that’s how the Left seeks to win an argument.
Rap mogul Kanye West made the same “mistake” over the weekend when he praised a black conservative woman and YouTuber, Candice Owens. Let the meltdown begin.
The difference between these two is that Kanye didn’t apologize or otherwise walk back his comments.
In a mini-tweet storm, she said, “I would like to apologize to anybody I have offended in a recent interview with the Guardian relating to the American President. The question caught me off guard. As a Canadian, I regret answering this unexpected question without giving my response more context.
“I am passionately against discrimination of any kind and hope it’s clear from the choices I have made, and the people I stand with, that I do not hold any common moral beliefs with the current President,” she continued.
“My answer was awkward, but certainly should not be taken as representative of my values nor does it mean I endorse him. I make music to bring people together. My path will always be one of inclusivity, as my history shows.”

Somewhere, former Soviet leader Joseph Stalin is smiling and thinking, “Where were these Americans when I was still alive? I could have ruled the world.”
It is rumored that Stalin and other former Soviet leaders believed they could defeat America without ever firing a shot, that we would be beaten from within through the willful abandonment of our civil liberties and constitutional rights.
There is little doubt that process has begun.
When you look around and see the growing numbers of useful idiots and Left-wing lemmings using their First Amendment rights to attack the Second Amendment — the one right that guarantees all others — you have to believe that we’ve begun sleepwalking down a path to our own self-destruction.
The same is true when you see how a liberal mob can silence someone’s voice of dissent.
Twain had nary a thing to apologize for. She was only speaking her mind and, the last time we checked, this was still America and we still have the right to do that.
But little by little, through shaming, shouting, and, at times, violence, the Left is accomplishing what Soviet leaders could not in more than 70 years.
They are destroying our country from within.
The best way to combat the whiny, continually offended speech police is to commit more ‘infractions’ of liberal speech code.
Twain should learn a lesson from Kanye and other noted conservatives and not back down one iota but rather double-down and even triple-down on speaking up and speaking out.
Otherwise, we as a country will eventually lose the right because if you don’t use it, you lose it. And the speech Nazis will win.
