For now, it’s not clear who that informant was. We were given some clues last week thanks to leaks passed along to the usual outlets in the Pravda press, members of which probably already know this person’s identity.
To that end, Wall Street Journal columnist Kimberly Strassel wrote that she believes she knows the identity of the mole as well, though she hasn’t released his/her name yet because — unlike most in the Pravda media — she still has integrity and wants to get it confirmed first.
Some Republican lawmakers are aware of this information and have been attempting to force the Justice Department and to brief them on the identity of this person, which of course both the DoJ and FBI have been hiding from Congress for two years now.
House Intelligence Committee chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., has even gone so far as to threaten to hold Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein in contempt of Congress — a threat that at least got him and House Government Oversight and Reform chairman Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., sit-down with Rosenstein on Thursday, although it doesn’t appear they were provided with the person’s identity.
On Friday, former Secret Service agent and conservative talk show host Dan Bongino took this scandal up a notch when he suggested to Fox News host Tucker Carlson than the Obama regime likely had more than one spy planted in the Trump campaign.
“A human intelligence asset may have been inserted in your political rivals campaign? How this isn’t front page news on every newspaper across the globe is stunning,” Bongino said, knowing full well that if a Republican president had done this to, say, the Obama campaign or Hillary’s campaign, it would be treated as the massive scandal that it is by the Pravda media.
“But Tucker that’s not it though. Keep in mind, just a couple weeks ago Devin Nunes on this network in an interview with [Fox Business host] Maria Bartiromo had another bombshell,” he said.
“That there was no official foreign intelligence, through official channels passed into the United States” that warranted the launch of a counterintelligence operation against the Trump campaign, Bongino said.
“I have my suspicions about who this asset is as do many others by the way. This is going to be explosive though when this name comes out. Because the list of suspects is very short,” he added.
“And there are some very suspicious people who are connected to people within our intelligence community now… I believe there is more than one source for the FBI,” Bongino declared.
Many questions remain and someone needs to answer them. Like, when was this spy either placed in the campaign of President Trump or cultivated? That in and of itself is important — was it before the official launch of the counter-intel probe or after?
And there’s this: If there were spies in the Trump campaign and still no evidence has been produced of illegal activities or “collusion” with Russia, why is Robert Mueller still ‘investigating?’
Trump may be getting a lot of political mileage out of this scandal, but at some point, he’s going to have to step in and order everything declassified so the American people can see how massive this scandal really is and who must be held legally responsible. People’s lives are being destroyed.
