(National Sentinel) Corruption: Former federal prosecutor and practicing attorney Joe diGenova is apoplectic — and with good reason.
President Obama subjected President Donald J. Trump’s campaign to the kind of political corruption that is usually seen in a banana republic, not the greatest country on the planet.
As The New York Times reported Wednesday, the FBI launched what can only be called a domestic spy operation against Team Trump 100 days out from the November 2016 election.
There was no evidence to support what was characterized as a counterintelligence operation because, as House Intelligence Committee chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., has said, Obama’s FBI had no evidence that Team Trump was working with a foreign government to undermine the United States.
The spying operation even had a suspenseful-sounding name: “Crossfire Hurricane.”
Within hours of opening an investigation into the Trump campaign’s ties to Russia in the summer of 2016, the F.B.I. dispatched a pair of agents to London on a mission so secretive that all but a handful of officials were kept in the dark.
Their assignment, which has not been previously reported, was to meet the Australian ambassador, who had evidence that one of Donald J. Trump’s advisers knew in advance about Russian election meddling. After tense deliberations between Washington and Canberra, top Australian officials broke with diplomatic protocol and allowed the ambassador, Alexander Downer, to sit for an F.B.I. interview to describe his meeting with the campaign adviser, George Papadopoulos.
The F.B.I. obtained phone records and other documents using national security letters — a secret type of subpoena — officials said. And at least one government informant met several times with Mr. Page and Mr. Papadopoulos, current and former officials said. That has become a politically contentious point, with Mr. Trump’s allies questioning whether the F.B.I. was spying on the Trump campaign or trying to entrap campaign officials.
Keep in mind that national security letters are reserved for only the most serious breaches. But like FISA court proceedings they are secret, so they are beyond normal review procedures and most congressional oversight.
Which explains why the Obama administration — one of the least transparent in our country’s history — chose that route.
But overall, as The Gateway Pundit notes, this is the nub of what Obama’s FBI and DoJ did:
The FBI was spying on the opposition party’s campaign 100 days before the election based on a phony Russian dossier that was paid for by Democrats and Hillary Clinton and by the hearsay of a low-level Trump campaign official who was coached by FBI operatives on Russian rumors.
Five agents, including Peter Strzok, traveled to London in the summer of 2016 to interview with a diplomat after Papadopoulos drunkenly claimed to Australian Ambassador Alexander Downer he knew who had Hillary’s emails.
Papadopoulos had been spoon-fed fake information about Hillary’s emails — twice — by Obama’s and Comey’s FBI because he was being cultivated as a spy asset within the Trump campaign.
Frankly, it’s outrageous that this happened. And if a Republican president had done this to a Democratic presidential candidate the disgusting Pravda media would drive itself crazy calling for impeachment and indictments.
In an interview with Fox News‘ Sean Hannity Wednesday, an outraged diGenova proclaimed this to be the “most unbelievable scandal” in our history.
“James Comey was the dirty cop in charge of a bunch of dirty cops. And what you have here is, this was a criminal plot by senior people: John Brennan, James Comey, James Clapper, senior Department of Justice officials to suborn the presidency of the United States through the use of false evidence,” he said.
“The false FISA warrants were obtained through lying to the FISA Court. When all is said and done, Mr. Huber [the U.S. attorney from Utah whom AG Jeff Sessions appointed] who is conducting the grand jury to investigate the unmasking, the lying of the FISA court, and the leaking of the information to the press,” he continued.
“It will be shown without a shadow of a doubt that the reason Mr. Brennan has been lying under congressional testimony from the beginning is because he knew if he told the truth that he would reveal the plot that involved all the people,” said diGenova.
“That story in The New York Times today is a magnificent piece of evidence that there was, in fact, a plot… There was an effort to undermine the candidacy of the opposition party. This is the most unbelievable scandal in the history of this country and The New York Times just blew the lid off of it.”
The DoJ inspector general’s report is coming.
The Deep State likely knows it will be extremely damning and could even lead to indictments of key players.
