Sen. Thune: ‘I highly DOUBT’ Mueller’s bogus probe ends with POTUS Trump impeachment referral

(National SentinelDoubts: Ever-cautious Republican senators have long remained silent regarding the fate of President Donald J. Trump in regards to special counsel Robert Mueller’s ongoing, but highly bogus, investigation.

It’s not that they have ever believed the president was guilty of some sort of criminal ‘collusion’ with a foreign government — Russia — to “steal the election.”

It was more like they were hedging their bets to see how things turned out.

But as it becomes more obvious that the Mueller probe is the result of a carefully-planned plot to undermine Trump and destroy his presidency, more GOP senators are speaking out in support of the president.

It’s about time. He’s never been guilty of this.

On Thursday, Sen. John Thune of South Dakota said he doubts even that Mueller’s investigation will end with an impeachment referral to Congress.

“The American people at some point are going to tire of this, and many of them have already put it in their rearview mirrors,” Thune told Fox News, as reported by Breitbart.

He was then asked specifically about the impeachment referral.

“I would highly doubt that would be the case. I think it’s in the president’s best interest and the American people’s best interest that the facts and the truth get out there. That the conclusions be reached,” he said.

“They’ve investigated everything and interviewed everybody and have had months and months of this now to do this and I think it’s time for them to begin to start winding this down,” he continued.

“I hope that happens sooner rather than later, because I don’t think it’s in anybody’s best interest to drag these sorts of things out forever and for them to become an unending sort of campaign.”

We don’t think so, either. But so far, at least, AG Jeff Sessions and Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein appear as though they do think it should drag on into the midterm elections and beyond.

The question for them is, why, given that we know Mueller’s probe was based on a hoax?
