(National Sentinel) Freedom: A little more than a week ago Alice Johnson, 63, still believed she was going to serve many more years behind bars for a one-time non-violent drug offense.
She knew that reality TV star Kim Kardashian West had been to the White House to see President Donald Trump, to plead her case and ask the president for clemency on behalf of Johnson.
No doubt Johnson was very hopeful — who gets in to see the president of the United States, let alone someone on behalf of a citizen who’s in prison?
She had been sentenced to life in prison without any chance for parole.
Did she really have a shot at freedom? Those are just movie scripts, right?
Kardashian convinced POTUS Trump that Alice Johnson was most definitely worthy of a commutation. She had been convicted once of a drug-related offense that was non-violent and did not target others.
So on Wednesday late in the afternoon, Alice Johnson — who reportedly has a job waiting for her — was free once more.
Here’s the moment the newly-freed Johnson reunited with her family:

In her first media interview as a free woman, Johnson thanked Jesus Christ, Donald Trump and Kim Kardashian:
This heart-rendering reunion was long overdue. Kardashian West knew that and once he heard Alice Johnson’s story, POTUS Trump agreed.
Once again this president does things that no president before him has done.
When he sees an injustice, he rights the wrong in real time. He doesn’t have staff getting polling data. He doesn’t consult with ‘advisers.’ He knows instinctively what to do.
The right thing for all Americans.
Kardashian West also sent out a touching message after talking with Alice Johnson.
The phone call I just had with Alice will forever be one of my best memories. Telling her for the first time and hearing her screams while crying together is a moment I will never forget.
