(National Sentinel) Bold: On Thursday the cowards who run the NFL announced the suspension of a new rule that would have prohibited players from showing disrespect to the American flag (and the country) on the sidelines during the playing of the National Anthem.
In addition, the rule would have provided at least some level of punishment for players who violated it, including fines.
But the rule also gave players the option of remaining in the locker room during the playing of the Anthem.
The point was, the league was responding to the loss of millions of fans and tens of millions of dollars in merchandise and other league-related sales in 2017 because players from nearly every team sought to use the playing of the Anthem as a means of protesting against alleged injustices against blacks.
As we reported on Thursday:
In the off-season, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and the majority of team owners came to an agreement on a new policy that forbade players from using sideline antics as a form of political protest during games.
But now, all that’s on hold, thanks to the same kind of weak-spined management that allowed protests to continue throughout last season.
The league put out a statement that says, in part, “The NFL and NFLPA reflect the great values of America, which are repeatedly demonstrated by the many players doing extraordinary work in communities across our country to promote equality, fairness and justice.”
We’re not sure which group contains the most idiots — the owners and NFL management or the players themselves, both of whom seem hell-benton destroying the very league that provides them with a fabulous living.
Perhaps both are just as ignorant — and tone-deaf.
Well, POTUS Donald Trump — who wasn’t afraid to wade into the ‘controversy’ over kneeling NFL players last year — is still not afraid to do so.
And in fact, the former owner of the USFL’s New Jersey Generals gave the well-paid NFL boss some bold advice about how to handle the BS political protesting during games:
The NFL National Anthem Debate is alive and well again – can’t believe it! Isn’t it in contract that players must stand at attention, hand on heart? The $40,000,000 Commissioner must now make a stand. First time kneeling, out for game. Second time kneeling, out for season/no pay!

Bold and decisive. Spot-on. Gets to the heart of the issue with the NFL’s fan base.
Which is why the cowards running the NFL will ignore it and continue to shed viewers and profits.
