Did Cohen LIE? Former Trump lawyer’s claim POTUS knew about Trump Tower meeting refutes his Senate testimony

(National SentinelCYA: Ever since the FBI raided his offices earlier this year acting on orders from special counsel Robert Mueller, former POTUS Trump lawyer Michael Cohen has been increasingly cooperative with the ongoing investigation.

In fact, Cohen has been so cooperative that he may have gotten himself into an even deeper legal jam.

On Friday CNN breathlessly reported that Cohen claims POTUS Trump knew about the infamous Trump Tower meeting between Donald Trump Jr., a gaggle of campaign figures and Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya in NYC in June 2016.

POTUS denied it immediately and emphatically.

And as we reported, Don Jr.’s Senate sworn testimony last year included his denial that he told his dad about the meeting. In fact, he said, according to the Washington Post, that it was so insignificant he didn’t bother his father about it since dad was busy on the campaign trail.

Now it appears that Cohen’s own Senate testimony contradicts what CNN claimed on Friday.

As The Gateway Pundit noted, Cohen, in his September 2017 statement to the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, said he never saw then-GOP candidate Trump do anything at all to suggest collusion with the Russian government:

I have never engaged with, been paid by, paid for, or conversed with any member of the Russian Federation or anyone else to hack Democratic Party computers; and I have never engaged with, been paid by, paid for, or conversed with any member of the Russian Federation or anyone else to create fake news stories to assist the Trump campaign or to damage the Clinton campaign.

Given my own proximity to the President of the United States as a candidate, let me also say that I never saw anything – not a hint of anything – that demonstrated his involvement in Russian interference in our election or any form of Russian collusion.

I emphatically state that I had nothing to do with any Russian involvement in our electoral process.

What happened to change your mind, Michael? Oh yeah…the FBI’s raid.

By the way, Cohen’s case is not even being handled by Mueller. He passed it off to the Southern District of New York.

So Mueller also doesn’t believe Cohen is his path to ‘getting Trump’ on allegations of “collusion” with Mother Russia.
