(National Sentinel) Mulitple Lies: As more layers are peeled away exposing the massive scandal regarding the FBI’s bogus “investigation” into Hillary Clinton’s gross mishandling of classified emails, we are learning that Director Choir Boy, James Comey, was far less than honest with Congress about the bureau’s purported actions.
As in, contrary to Comey’s notification to Congress that his agents thoroughly vetted Hillary-related emails found on a laptop belonging to disgraced former Rep. Anthony Weiner’s laptop, onetime husband to top Hillary aide Huma Abedin.
Writing in The Federalist, investigative journalist Paul Sperry reported that the bureau did not review all of those emails, contrary to Comey’s claims:
When then-FBI Director James Comey announced he was closing the Hillary Clinton email investigation for a second time just days before the 2016 election, he certified to Congress that his agency had “reviewed all of the communications” discovered on a personal laptop used by Clinton’s closest aide, Huma Abedin, and her husband, Anthony Weiner.
At the time, many wondered how investigators managed over the course of one week to read the “hundreds of thousands” of emails residing on the machine, which had been a focus of a sex-crimes investigation of Weiner, a former Congressman.
Comey later told Congress that “thanks to the wizardry of our technology,” the FBI was able to eliminate the vast majority of messages as “duplicates” of emails they’d previously seen. Tireless agents, he claimed, then worked “night after night after night” to scrutinize the remaining material.
But virtually none of his account was true, a growing body of evidence reveals.
In fact, Sperry noted, only “3,077 of the 694,000 emails were directly reviewed for classified or incriminating information,” because a technical glitch prevented agents from reviewing the rest of them.
He reports that three agents completed the work in a 12-hour span the day before Comey declared to Congress all emails had been reviewed.
“Most of the emails were never examined, even though they made up potentially 10 times the evidence” of what was reviewed in the original year-long case that Comey closed in July 2016, a law enforcement official with direct knowledge of the investigation told Sperry.
But even that narrow search revealed more classified emails, Sperry reported, quoting sources.
And yet, Comey cleared her (so she could go on to win the White House…or so he and the rest of the Deep State thought).
Here’s what Comey actually said:
And so they came in and said, we can see thousands of emails from the Clinton email domain, including many, many, many from the Verizon Clinton domain, BlackBerry domain. They said we think we got to get a search warrant to go get these, and the Department of Justice agreed we had to go get a search warrant.
So I agreed, I authorized them to seek a search warrant. And then I faced a choice. And I’ve lived my entire career by the tradition that if you can possibly avoid it, you avoid any action in the run-up to an election that might have an impact. Whether it’s a dogcatcher election or president of the United States, but I sat there that morning and I could not see a door labeled no action here.
I could see two doors and they were both actions. One was labeled speak, the other was labeled conceal. Because here’s how I thought about it, I’m not trying to talk you into this, but I want you to know my thinking. Having repeatedly told this Congress, we are done and there’s nothing there, there’s no case there, there’s no case there, to restart in a hugely significant way, potentially finding the emails that would reflect on her intent from the beginning and not speak about it would require an active concealment, in my view.
And so I stared at speak and conceal. Speak would be really bad. There’s an election in 11 days, Lordy, that would be really bad. Concealing in my view would be catastrophic, not just to the FBI, but well beyond. And honestly, as between really bad and catastrophic, I said to my team we got to walk into the world of really bad. I’ve got to tell Congress that we’re restarting this, not in some frivolous way, in a hugely significant way.
And the team also told me, we cannot finish this work before the election. And then they worked night after night after night, and they found thousands of new emails, they found classified information on Anthony Weiner. Somehow, her emails are being forwarded to Anthony Weiner, including classified information, by her assistant, Huma Abedin. And so they found thousands of new emails and then called me the Saturday night before the election and said thanks to the wizardry of our technology, we’ve only had to personally read 6,000. We think we can finish tomorrow morning, Sunday.
And so I met with them and they said we found a lot of new stuff. We did not find anything that changes our view of her intent. So we’re in the same place we were in July.
What’s more, the FBI had already examined already examined the Weiner laptop a month earlier, according to the DoJ Inspector General’s report earlier this year. So the bureau didn’t need a warrant to examine the laptop again.
It was all lies.
Republicans are clamoring for the Justice Department to reopen the Clinton email case and fast because most national security crimes have a five-year statute of limitations.
Maybe now we know why POTUS Trump is finally getting involved with things — he’s running out of time to “lock her up.”
