Open borders: Arrests of violent MS-13 gang bangers up 50 percent in 2018

(National SentinelDangerous: They say that elections have consequences, but so do policies, and right now the congressional policy of resisting POTUS Donald Trump’s much-needed wall along the U.S. southwest border is consequential.

According to government figures, Border Patrol arrests of violent MS-13 gang members caught crossing illegally into the U.S. have risen dramatically this year — by 50 percent.

Breitbart News reports:

With one month to go in the Fiscal Year 2018 reporting period, Border Patrol agents arrested 377 members of the hyperviolent transnational criminal gang known as MS-13, according to information obtained from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials. The arrests indicate an increase of 47.8 percent over the total number arrested in Fiscal Year 2017.

The 377 MS-13 gang members arrested so far this year is the highest number since Fiscal Year 2014 when 437 were arrested, officials stated.

MS-13 members aren’t the only gang bangers streaming across the border:

In addition to the MS-13 gang members, Border Patrol agents also arrested 126 members of the violent 18th Street gang after they illegally entered the U.S. from Mexico or were otherwise encountered by agents, the report from CBP officials stated. That number is more than double the total number of arrests of 18th Street gang members in all of FY2017 (61 arrests). The arrests of 18th Street gang members by Border Patrol agents so far this year is the largest number in the five-year reporting period.

In total, Border Patrol agents successfully stopped 728 gang members from entering the U.S. this fiscal year. This is up from 536 in all of FY 2017 (a nearly 36 percent increase).

Other gangs with large numbers of arrests this year include Paisas (58) and Sureños (57).

Arrests of ‘ordinary’ people crossing illegally into the U.S. have fallen by about 50 percent, from a high of 12,842 in 2016 to around 6,300 thus far this year.

Meanwhile, one immigration reform group lashed out at the GOP-controlled Congress for passing a resolution ‘condemning’ voting by people in the country illegally, while refusing to provide funding for the president’s border wall.

House Resolution 1071, which recognizes that allowing illegal immigrants the right to vote devalues the franchise and diminishes the voting power of United States citizens, was approved today in the House by a 279-72 vote, with 69 members simply voting present. Recently, a handful of local jurisdictions including San Francisco, CA—which is mentioned specifically in the resolution—have begun to not only allow, but actively encourage, illegal aliens to vote in certain municipal elections,” the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) said in a statement.

“Allowing illegal aliens to vote in elections at the local, state or federal level is a slap in the face to the American people because it diminishes their voices by elevating those of foreign nationals who are in the country illegally,” the group continued.

“Moreover, granting voting privileges to non-citizens before they’ve finished their naturalization process demeans citizenship and waters down the very thing which most immigrants seek and cherish.

“Unfortunately, this vote only further demonstrates that many Democrats in Congress are more concerned with their open borders agenda than they are with their fellow citizens,” FAIR continued.

“FAIR applauds the Representatives who supported this resolution, albeit a non-binding one. They clearly recognize that our American community has the right to define standards of membership, and that includes the preservation of citizen-only voting,” said the group.

“Likewise, these Representatives must also recognize that is the right of our nation to secure our borders and their responsibility to do. By once again refusing to adequately fund the border wall, these lawmakers have abdicated that responsibility. It’s long past time for consistency and more tangible commitments to fix our immigration crisis.”

In the UK, a citizen has to register to vote through his local council and prove his identity. He may then vote locally on local up to national elections. From what I understand in the USA, there is no requirement to register for a specific location nor provide proof of identity and the voter may be bussed to multiple voting sites and vote as many times as he wishes. Is this correct?

No. You have to register to vote and only vote in a specific geographic region for local/state/federal elections.

What you are referring to are reports of illegal voting, which does occur (Democrats do this). There are voter ID laws, per se, but they are often challenged by the Democratic Party or groups aligned with it. Some local/state voting requirements are more lax than others. But on the national level when voting for candidates for federal office, you must ‘prove’ you have a right to vote (as a citizen). I like the way you vote better. 😉
