McConnell: ‘We are committed’ to helping POTUS get border wall funding

(National SentinelWinning: POTUS Donald Trump has been trying to convince and cajole majority Republicans into funding his long-promised border wall, but up to now has faced nothing but resistance from too many RINOs.

But in the past few weeks, as he tenaciously defended now-Justice Brett Kavanaugh from Left-wing character assassins and as his administration has managed to re-negotiate NAFTA in a way that is better for U.S. businesses and Americans in general, he seems to be making progress in border wall funding.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., assured reporters this week that he is now on board with wall funding.

“We are committed to helping the president get wall funding,” McConnell said at an Associated Press event on Wednesday morning, per press reports.

The majority leader also predicted that the lame-duck Senate session, which runs from Election Day in early November until a new Congress is seated in January 2019, will likely be “relatively lively.”

McConnell’s pledge comes on the heels of a similar one from House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., who introduced legislation to fully fund the border wall as a means of making it a midterm election referendum.

“For decades, America’s inability to secure our borders and stop illegal immigration has encouraged millions to undertake a dangerous journey to come here in violation of our laws and created a huge loophole to the legal channels to the immigration process where America welcomes immigrants to our country,” McCarthy said in a statement to Breitbart News.

“President Trump’s election was a wakeup call to Washington. The American people want us to build the wall and enforce the law. Maintaining strong borders is one of the basic responsibilities of any nation. For too long, America has failed in this responsibility.”

Included in his bill are security and enforcement provisions targeting illegal aliens, sanctuary cities, and criminal alien gang members.

It appears that Republicans who were reluctant to support POTUS Trump early on are liking what they see him doing for the country and want to get behind it, or are confident in his political instincts. Either way, America wins (and the Left loses).

2 Comments on McConnell: ‘We are committed’ to helping POTUS get border wall funding

  1. It’s amazing how Kavanaugh’s confirmation has unified the Republicans. Now we will be unstoppable in completing President Trump’s America 1st agenda.

  2. It requires gullibility to believe anything Mitch says. The republican party in Congress has broken promise after promise. Recall the vows last election to eliminate Obamacare. McConnell was more cooperative to Obama than Trump.
