(TNS) Midterms: If ever there was a galvanizing issue for Republican voters, it’s immigration or, rather, illegal immigration, according to a new survey just weeks away from the Nov. 6 midterm elections.
According to the Kaiser Family Foundation Health Tracking Poll, 25 percent of Republicans said immigration is the most important midterm issue. “Economy and Jobs” (23 percent) came in second, followed by healthcare (17 percent), “gun policy” (17 percent), and “tax cuts and reform” (7 percent), Breitbart News reported.
POTUS Donald Trump has attempted to take the immigration issue front-and-center ahead of the midterms, and his efforts were greatly assisted this week by Left-wing groups who are funding the migrant caravan heading towards the U.S. via Honduras and Guatemala.
During a campaign event in Montana for GOP Senate candidate Matt Rosendale, the president brought up the immigration issue.
The president said he is ready to send the military to the U.S.-Mexico border “because of the illegal immigration onslaught brought by the Democrats” while referring to the 2018 midterm elections as “an election of the caravan.”
He also hit Democrats over their mistreatment of Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
“This will be an election of [Justice Brett] Kavanaugh, the caravan, law and order, and common sense,” Trump said, accusing Democrats of wanting more illegal immigrant migrants to enter the country because they “figure everybody coming in is going to vote Democrat.”
