Blue wave NOT: Real Clear Politics chief sees shifts to GOP

(TNSRed Wave: A co-founder of Real Clear Politics told Fox Business‘ Stuart Varney on Wednesday that his polling group isn’t seeing the alleged “blue wave” that Democrats have been predicting for the past year leading up to the 2018 midterm elections.

Rather, Tom Bevan said, RCP is actually seeing shifts toward Republicans, suggesting that not only will the GOP keep the House and Senate but the party may even expand its numbers in both chambers.

“Look if you were talking about a blue wave you would expect it to be cresting. Right? If a wave was coming you’d expect it to be building and building. Here we are 13 days out from the midterms and that’s not what I’m seeing,” said Bevan

“We’re seeing the president’s job approval rating going up. We’re seeing the generic ballot number holding, Democrats in the advantage but not building” as it should be, he continued.

“And certainly, in some of these swing districts, we’re seeing a hand-to-hand combat, a race-by-race battle in these House districts around the country. And obviously, in the Senate, it seems to be moving in the Republican’s direction… Democrats may take the House but this is certainly not shaping up to be a big blue wave,” he added.

There is additional information that Democratic hopes to recapture the House in two weeks are slipping away.

Rasmussen Reports notes:

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone and online survey finds that 47% of Likely U.S. Voters would choose the Democratic candidate if the elections for Congress were held today. Forty-four percent (44%) would opt for the Republican. Three percent (3%) prefer some other candidate, and six percent (6%) are undecided.

So much for the 12-15 point “generic” ballot lead Democrats held at the beginning of this year.

There is also this. Americans have been rejecting Democrats in droves since the 2010 election, Obama’s first midterm. Since then, Democrats have lost something like 1,200 elected seats nationwide; what has changed to make us vote to put them back in power?

Donald Trump’s election? POTUS Trump’s popularity is growing, as Bevan noted.

It could well be the vaunted ‘blue wave’ was nothing more than a fabrication of the Left-wing media and was never real. We’ll soon see.

Polls are both highly subjective and relatively inaccurate vis a vis the actual mood of the voting public. They are mostly subtle propaganda to either encourage or discourage potential voters regardless of sampling techniques or sample sizes. The “Blue Wave” is a fabrication of the LIEberal Enemedia and never has existed. Republican voters are energized and they’re angry at the DemocRATS and events of late like the Kavanaugh Inquisition and the Illegal Alien invasion. Jobs not Mobs. MAGA!

    • No fear on the building thing. Most folks in tall buildings are working. That excludes most on the left.

  4. I don’t think polls, especially telephone polls are accurate now. No one answers their phone that I know of if the phone number isn’t someone they recognize, and caller ID is widespread. Enough people have been victims of phone scams that phones have pretty much been eliminated for polling. If they are using polling based on phone calls, I would say the people that answer aren’t representative of the population likely to vote, who at least are able to read and don’t want to be the victim of phone scams. This is based on my day to day contacts with people and ordinary conversation, since most people are really disturbed that they have been a victim probably once or twice of either phone scams or computer email phishing.
Also prior to the 2016 election, it was recognized that polls weren’t accurate due to people not wanting to admit that they were in favor of Trump. I think the only poll that turned out to be accurate ended up asking if people knew anyone such as a neighbor that was going to vote for Trump, and people would answer that question, but it wasn’t a direct question concerning themselves.
I’m not sure how I would generate a poll these day, perhaps setting up some simulated poll voting stations similar to real voting and elicit eligible voters vote with the understanding it’s a poll.

  5. I’m voting ALL RED just so I can see the DECLASS of the FISA memos and the Deep State house of cards all fall down. The treasonous bastards will then be tried by military tribunals. Let the pain begin. #Qanon
