Is she done? Ginsburg will miss oral arguments NEXT week as well

Officials with the U.S. Supreme Court have tried to downplay the fact that Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg missed three days’ worth of oral arguments this week as related to her recent cancer surgery.

“Her recovery from surgery is on track. Post-surgery evaluation indicates no evidence of remaining disease, and no further treatment is required,” said court spokesperson Kathy Arberg.

While that statement can be taken a couple of different ways, The Hill is reporting that the Clinton-nominated justice will also be out next week, which will no doubt set off panic among Left-wing groups and congressional Democrats:

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg will be absent from the bench again next week.

The Supreme Court’s spokeswoman, Kathy Arberg, said Ginsburg will continue to work from home and participate in the consideration and decision of the cases on the basis of the briefs and transcripts of oral arguments.

Ginsburg, 85, had surgery Dec. 21 to remove two cancerous nodules from her lower left lung. Her recovery forced her to miss oral arguments in cases this week for the first time her more than 25-year career.

The cancer was discovered incidentally while she was being treated at George Washington University Hospital for fractured ribs, an injury she sustained in November after falling in her office.

As we reported Thursday, the White House is preparing for Ginsburg’s departure, citing Politico:

The White House is reaching out to political allies and conservative activist groups to prepare for an ailing Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s possible death or departure from the Supreme Court — an event that would trigger the second bitter confirmation battle of President Donald Trump’s tenure.

The administration “is taking the temperature on possible short-list candidates, reaching out to key stakeholders, and just making sure that people are informed on the process,” a source familiar with those conversations told Politico.

“They’re doing it very quietly, of course, because the idea is not to be opportunistic, but just to be prepared so we aren’t caught flat-footed.”

With the spectacle Democratic senators and Left-wing organizations created over Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation process still looming in the minds of many Americans, we think it’s safe to say that will pale in comparison to what’s coming for the next justice POTUS Trump nominates to replace Ginsburg.

Because it’s likely to be another constitutional originalist who will solidify the high court’s right-leaning bent for a generation or more.

After Democrats trotted out several women who all claimed to have been drugged and raped by Kavanaugh or seen him do it to someone else were all discredited, we can only imagine what Senate Democrats are plotting next.

Prepare to be outraged, though. — Jon Dougherty

  1. If it turns out to be true that RBG will soon retire, I hope the additional rumors that President Trump would be willing to work out a deal with Democrats to select a more liberal nominee to replace RBG in the Supreme Court in exchange for Democrats giving him the funding he wants to build the border wall are false. There are surely other and better ways to get funding to complete the border wall. I would be very disappointed if such a deal was made, and I hope President Trump chooses a pro-Constitution justice to replace RBG. Appointing a liberal nominee would not be good for America.

  2. How do we know she is still alive?

  3. Let’s just get Amy Barrett on SCOTUS!

  4. The old wino has really been at any hearings for a long time, she falls asleep and hasn’t a clue what is going on.

  5. It seems many decent people hope she dies soon. Not me. I want her to live a couple more years in a hospital in horrible pain screaming insanely while crapping her diapers and having no release while she contemplates what she has helped do to babies being torn apart in and out of the womb.

I want here gone now. The Lord Himself will take of her horrible, screaming pain for eternity. I don’t have to witness it to know it’s happening

The Lib bag will NEVER abdicate her SCOTUS position willingly. It’s the only significant achievement of her otherwise dull life. Also, she’s determined to not croak until Trump cannot nominate a Conservative jurist as her successor. Trump knows this. It might be why he hasn’t yet declared a National Emergency to build the wall. … It could be a waiting game for both of them.

  7. If she misses that many oral arguments How can she give a an opinion on the case?????? Roberts is cutting her way too much slack to screw over Trump. An independent Doctor needs to give her a physical and psychological examination to see if she is competent. If she is not she should be removed from the court immediately. She is trying to hang on till the Supreme court term ends later this year. then she will announce her retirement. Giving the republicans a choice vote for a replacement in an election year or wait until after the 2020 election. There by increasing democratic turnout to stop president trump from getting another supreme court justice in his first term.
