The more things change, the more they stay the same. That’s what could be said about former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz, who is considering running for president in 2020 as an “independent” who sounds a lot like the Democratic Left.
In an appearance on Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop podcast last week, Schultz made the same tired, worn-out ‘dire warning’ regarding alleged human-caused ‘climate change’: We’re all going to die, and soon, if we don’t do ‘something.’
Claiming “we are literally as a world on a collision course with time,” the coffee billionaire said Americans must take “personal responsibility” to address global warming.
“I’m certainly concerned about the environment and the fact that you don’t have to be a scientist to understand that things are changing,” Schultz said.

“And we are literally as a world on a collision course with time, and we must address it, we must fix it, we must have personal responsibility,” he said.
Schultz’s climate change/global warming warning doesn’t sound any different than those of other Leftists including Democratic socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who recently claimed the world is “going to end in 12 years.”
For the record, the two counties that emit the most CO2 these days thanks to their rapid industrialization are India and China; the U.S. has had an environmental regulatory regime in place for decades that limits the amount of pollutants our factories can emit.
Secondly, that doesn’t make it an “American responsibility” as Schultz claims, but rather an Indian and Chinese responsibility — right?
If Schultz wants to know why so many Americans are jaded to such warnings the answers are simple: We’ve been “warned” now for decades that ‘the world’s going to end’ due to global warming/climate change.
Also, the ‘solution’ is always the same: If only we’d give up all of our modern conveniences like electricity, AC, heat, the combustion engine, factories, and other technologies, we could ‘save ourselves.’
