The Latest:

The Democrats have an anti-Semitism problem and it’s growing beyond leadership’s ability to contain it

By Jon E. Dougherty

A report on Monday noted that freshman Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) once penned a column for a magazine founded by anti-Semite Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan even as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is attempting to manage the fallout from another gaffe from a freshman Democratic lawmaker

As reported by The Daily Caller, Tlaib — who is Muslim and of Palestinian heritage — wrote an article in 2006 for Nation of Islam publication Final Call, in what is the latest piece of evidence tying her to anti-Semitic figures.

“Tlaib authored the column in 2006 while working as the advocacy coordinator for the Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services (ACCESS), two years before she first won election to the state legislature,” The Daily Caller reported. “Tlaib was described as a ‘guest columnist’ in the article, which argued against deporting immigrants found guilty of ‘minor offenses.’

The publication describes itself as “the official communications organ of the Nation of Islam.” It was founded by the group’s leader, Farrakhan, according to the Final Call website.

The Nation of Islam leader has a lengthy history of unapologetic anti-Semitism including describing Jews as “satanic” while also praising Hitler as a “very great man.” What’s more, his reputation was well established by 2006, The Daily Caller notes.

Conservative writer Jeryl Bier on Monday first noted Tlaib’s Final Call op-ed. Tlaib has already come under criticism for her support of “anti-Israel radicals, as well as her support for the anti-Israel Boycott Divest Sanction (BDS) movement,” The Daily Caller noted.

Meanwhile, Abdel-qader Maher was a key fundraiser for Tlaib’s 2018 campaign; he’s repeatedly promoted anti-Semitic conspiracies online. He took credit on Facebook for raising hundreds of thousands for her campaign.

All of this is appropriate — the anti-Israeli bigotry and the Muslim financial support.

Tlaib’s column comes to light as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) attempts to mitigate criticism and fallout over a tweet sent by another freshman Muslim congresswoman, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), who accused a prominent pro-Israel lobbying group of paying lawmakers to support the Jewish state.

    As Fox News reported:

Omar, who became the first Somali-American woman elected to Congress in November, responded to a Twitter post by journalist Glenn Greenwald criticizing House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., for threatening to take action against Omar and another freshman lawmaker, Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., over allegedly anti-Semitic remarks.

“It’s all about the Benjamins, baby,” she wrote, quoting a 1997 rap song by Puff Daddy.

Omar’s factually inappropriate tweet drew the immediate condemnation of House leadership.

“Congresswoman Omar’s use of anti-Semitic tropes and prejudicial accusations about Israel’s supporters is deeply offensive,” said Pelosi, Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn and other party leaders in a statement, Politico reported. “We condemn these remarks and we call upon Congresswoman Omar to immediately apologize for these hurtful comments.“

“There’s situations in our conference where a member does something that is wrong — I think you’ve seen from my own actions that I take action about it,” McCarthy told reporters Friday, in an apparent reference to GOP Rep. Steve King of Iowa, who was removed from committee assignments last month after remarks deemed supportive of white supremacy.

“I think when they stay silent, they are just as guilty … I think this will not be the end of this, and if they do not take action then I think you will see action from myself. It’s unacceptable in this country, especially when you sit back and think about and listen to what this country went through in World War II,” McCarthy said.

Omar was challenged by Batya Ungar-Sargon, the opinion editor of The Forward newspaper, about who was “paying” lawmakers.

“Would love to know who @IlhanMN thinks is paying American politicians to be pro-Israel, though I think I can guess,” Ungar-Sargon tweeted. “Bad form, Congresswoman. That’s the second anti-Semitic trope you’ve tweeted.”

In response, Omar tweeted “AIPAC!” referring to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.

Another Democrat, Max Rose of New York, tweeted that Omar’s statements “are deeply hurtful to Jews, including myself.”

But the anti-Semitism of Tlaib and Omar is part of a larger trend within the Democrat Party.

As documented by PJ Media in 2015, Muslim groups in the U.S. overwhelmingly donate and support Democratic candidates for federal office.

“An analysis of federal campaign contributions finds that key figures at six of America’s most prominent Islamist organizations have favored Democrats over Republicans by a ratio of 12 to 1 since the 9/11 terrorist attacks,” wrote David J. Rusin.

The views expressed by Tlaib and Omar reflect an overall shift of Democrats away from Israel, especially over the past few years.

A Pew Research poll last year found only 27% of Democrats “sympathize” with Israel – a figure that is roughly even to the 25% of Democrats who sympathize with Palestine.

The same poll found that 79% percent of Republicans “sympathize” with Israel.

For some reason, however, most Jewish-Americans remain loyal Democrats. In 2016, Hillary Clinton received 70% of their votes. And American Jews hold a range of views on Israel. Following the 2018 midterm elections, a leading Jewish publication, the Forward, ran a piece which stated, “it’s simply not the case that the American Jewish community is willing to supply Israel with unconditional support anymore.”

The same article, however, was also critical of remarks made by representatives Omar and Tlaib, who are also Muslim. Omar has received strong condemnation for remarks she made before being elected. In a 2012 Tweet, she asserted, “Israel has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel. #Gaza #Palestine #Israel.”

This is all good news. The Democratic party is fracturing right before our eyes. First, they get Ocasio-Cortez who is pushing Socialism into their party. Socialism is not a unanimous movement within their party and its sudden appearance is causing friction among its members. Then this little girl promises a utopia for America by sponsoring the “Green New Deal” which, by the way, aims to tax the rich into oblivion, end all fossil fuels, end cars, airplanes and businesses based on fossil fuel and oh, also build trains that traverse the Pacific and Atlantic oceans – all this within 10 years too. If that weren’t enough, this little girl is getting more media attention than Nancy Pelosi. That’s gotta hurt.

Then you have Tlaib and Ilhan Omar who have repeatedly voiced their anti-Semitic views to the media. Now, Pelosi is running damage control for all these loose canons.

You add to that, infanticide, which is becoming legal in several states and the Dems do not speak out against it nor did they applaud Trump when he rebuked it in his SOTU. Their silence speaks volumes. This won’t bode well for them in the 2020 elections

Then, it was just discovered, the House Intel Chair Adam Schiff met with Fusion GPS founder Glenn Simpson during the height of the panels’ ‘Russian collusion’ probe. That is direct collusion and Schiff should have recused himself at the least.

I could go on but suffice it to say, the Dems are spiraling out of control. I hope this continues so that we can watch them crash and burn.

    2. The Democrats also have an anti White Policy, anti White Male Policy, anti Young White Male policy, an anti Christian policy, an anti straight moral policy, an anti Bill of Rights Policy especially 2A, anti Constitution policy, anti Sovereignty policy, an anti Western Civilization policy, an apparent anti happiness policy, a pro Global Governance policy an anti or untruth or lying policy, an anti Family policy, an anti education pro socialism indoctrination policy, an anti police and Rule of Law policy, an anti Defense of Freedom/anti Military policy, anti private property policy, an anti Conservative or Patriot policy. Did I leave anything out?

    3. And yet Jewish voters continue to favor Democrats.

As long as they have the media covering for them, they can say anything and get away with it.
