While every Left-wing Democrat in Congress stumbles over themselves daily in a race to the nearest TV camera so they can claim that POTUS Donald Trump is, among other things, the Muslim world’s biggest bigot, we ask that you avert your gaze for a moment to a new report from the State Department.
Utilizing data from several human rights groups as well as media reports, State notes that between 800,000 and 2 million Muslims have been forced into “internment camps” in China by the ruling Communist Party so they can be re-educated “to erase religious and ethnic identities.”
Meanwhile, many Muslim children are summarily sent off to orphanages by the government which, no doubt, aren’t five-star hotels.
Now, these are real internment camps, not the imagined kind that Trump’s Border Patrol or ICE agents are supposed to be running, according to Left-wing kooks in the Democrat Party.
In commenting on the situation in China last week, Michael Kozak, director of the State Department’s Human Rights and Democracy Bureau, said, “For me, you haven’t seen things like this since the 1930s,” a reference to the very real internment camps of Nazi Germany and the gulag prisons of the Soviet Union.
“Rounding up, in some estimations … in the millions of people, putting them into camps, and torturing them, abusing them, and trying to basically erase their culture and their religion and so on from their DNA,” he continued. “It’s just remarkably awful. It is one of the most serious human rights violations in the world today.”
Here’s a screenshot of one of the alleged camps in China:
Kozak’s comments came with the State Department’s recent release of its 2018 Country Reports on Human Rights Practices for China (including Tibet, Hong Kong, and Macau).
In the Executive Summary, the 126-page report states, “The People’s Republic of China (PRC) is an authoritarian state in which the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is the paramount authority. CCP members hold almost all top government and security apparatus positions. … [President] Xi Jinping continued to hold the three most powerful positions as CCP general secretary, state president, and chairman of the Central Military Commission.”
Fun fact: Recent changes to Chinese law got rid of term limits for presidents, so Xi gets to be president for life now.
Continuing, the summary stated, “During the year the government significantly intensified its campaign of mass detention of members of Muslim minority groups in the Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region (Xinjiang). Authorities were reported to have arbitrarily detained 800,000 to possibly more than two million Uighurs, ethnic Kazakhs, and other Muslims in internment camps designed to erase religious and ethnic identities.”
“Government officials claimed the camps were needed to combat terrorism, separatism, and extremism,” reads the summary. “International media, human rights organizations, and former detainees reported security officials in the camps abused, tortured, and killed some detainees.”
According to people interviewed by Radio Free Asia, Abdulreshit Seley Hajim, a Uighur businessman,
was executed “died from strikes to the head with a blunt object.”
Other findings in the report include:
— “The government conducted mass arbitrary detention of Uighurs, ethnic Kazakhs, and other Muslims in Xinjiang. China Human Rights Defenders reported these detentions amounted to enforced disappearance, as families were not given information about the length or location of the detention.”
— “Members of the minority Uighur ethnic group reported systematic torture and other degrading treatment by law enforcement officers and officials working within the penal system and the internment camps.”
— “Survivors stated authorities subjected individuals in custody to electrocution, waterboarding, beatings, stress positions, injection of unknown substances, and cold cells. Practitioners of the banned Falun Gong spiritual movement and members of the Church of Almighty God also reported systematic torture in custody.”
There are other horrific details, but you get the picture.
Mind you, none of this is new for China. Ever since the Communists took over in 1949, when the party wasn’t purging its own people by the millions it was purging or otherwise persecuting other ethnic groups.
The point is that in America, you never hear the Left complain about these blatant human rights abuses. To them, the Chinese are saints and the only threat to decency and humanity is Donald Trump.
To them, a travel ban against countries that harbor Islamic terrorists is no different than rounding up millions of Muslims and cramming them into fetid, lousy camps.
Except that to rational, reasonable people, there’s a huge difference.
Which leaves out Democrats.
