Mueller didn’t ‘exonerate’ Trump for ‘obstruction of justice’ so the coup attempt against the president could proceed

By Jon Dougherty

Special counsel Robert Mueller couldn’t resist ending his “Russian collusion” probe without figuratively smacking POTUS Donald Trump upside the head, so he left open the ‘possibility’ that the president may have committed “obstruction of justice” when he fired FBI Director James Comey.

Here’s the key phrase, which Attorney General William Barr quoted in his memo summary of Mueller’s findings: “While this report does not conclude that the President committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him.”

Naturally, this was all the dishonest “mainstream” media needed in order to continue running with pretty much the same bogus story they have been repeating for nearly two years: That the president is guilty, guilty, guilty of…something. And the fact that Mueller did not definitely say, “Nope, didn’t find any obstruction,” to them means…”Obstruction!”

Barr’s memo notes:

Obstruction of Justice. The report’s second part addresses a number of actions by the President most of which have been the subject of public reporting that the Special Counsel investigated as potentially raising obstruction-of-justice concerns.

After making a “thorough factual investigation” into these matters, the Special Counsel considered whether to evaluate the conduct under Department standards governing prosecution and declination decisions but ultimately determined not to make a traditional prosecutorial judgment.

The Special Counsel therefore did not draw a conclusion one way or the other as to whether the examined conduct constituted obstruction. Instead, for each of the relevant actions investigated, the report sets out evidence on both sides of the question and leaves unresolved what the Special Counsel views as “difficult issues” of law and fact concerning whether the President’s actions and intent could be viewed as obstruction.

The Special Counsel states that “while this report does not conclude that the President committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him.”

Oh, really?

The low foreheads at CNNMSNBC, and the networks — sorry, ‘legal analysts’ — all had their theories. Among them:

— Barr’s a hack because he had already written a memo stating the ‘obstruction’ theory was “fatally misconceived” and he said in an interview that the theory was “asinine.”

— Barr’s covering for POTUS, his boss.

— Mueller really did want to charge the president but there was disagreement among his prosecutors (all of whom were Democrat and/or Hillary donors and supporters and whom, you just know, wanted to tee off on Trump).

But here’s the reality of why Mueller never made any recommendations to pursue charges against the president: There were no charges to pursue.

The president’s Democratic and Leftist opponents claim that he “obstructed” the Russia probe when he fired Comey. But a) presidents can constitutionally fire anyone who works under them in the Executive Branch, taking into account that there could be political consequences (impeachment) for said action, but no legal consequences; and b) the investigation continued — without hesitation, hence the appointment of Mueller.

How can there be obstruction when nothing was obstructed and the president, per the Constitution, has king-like control over the branch of government he heads?

There is also this. Mueller, at various times during his career, was an assistant United States attorney; a United States attorney; United States assistant attorney general for the Criminal Division; a homicide prosecutor in Washington, D.C.; acting United States deputy attorney general; and director of the FBI. Are we to believe that, after all of this federal law enforcement and Justice Department experience, he has no idea what does and does not constitute criminal obstruction?

Remember, he couldn’t have brought charges against POTUS because longstanding Justice Department policy states that sitting presidents cannot be charged. But all eyes were on him when he filed his report; certainly, he could have recommended the president be charged for ‘obstruction.’

But he didn’t even do that.

So he left the decision to a man who’d only been attorney general for less than six weeks — after he spent most of two years investigating the president for “obstruction” and “conspiratorial” collusion?

Once again, the Deep State has bared its hand for all who care to see.

As talk radio legend Rush Limbaugh noted on his program Friday, Mueller wasn’t conducting an “investigation” over the past several months because there was nothing to ‘investigate.’ The Russian collusion allegation was always a hoax; a fabrication; a made-up construct that the Deep State used as a premise to execute their coup attempt.

So, of course, he’d find POTUS ‘innocent’ as charged. But leaving open the “obstruction” possibility gives the Deep State-aligned media and the rest of the coup conspirators the cracked door which they can slip through to continue justifying the pursuit of the president.

Mueller’s report isn’t an end, in other words. It’s just another means to an end: Getting rid of Donald Trump.

  1. The Dems and the Left are living in a fantasy, make-believe world where they believe their own lies. They are incapable of seeing or accepting truth. In fact, they are repulsed by the truth. They have an agenda and that is to destroy President Trump by any means possible.

Their hatred for him will backfire. It already has. They cannot accept the truth that the Mueller investigation found no evidence of wrong doing. So, they will spent the next two years running endless investigations into anything Trump. At this point, don’t be surprised if they manufacture false documents again out of desperation.

We will be watching a re-run of an old show.

comey lied to america and congress, colluded with lorreta the liar lynch to exonerate clinton, he should be sitting in prison.. muelface should be sitting next to him, along with obama, the clintons, clapper, et al!

  3. Remember the Alinsky playbook ; one of the big rules is NEVER QUIT. So the BORG show must go on, Folks, but hey, I’m really enjoying all this. It’s great to see our enemies perish in the quicksand they created, one by one they are all going down. The BORG were always good at entertaining, right ? This ain’t any different. Trump did say at the start of 2019 to “Sit back and enjoy the show !!” HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  4. Investigators do not ‘exhonorate’ persons under investigation, they investigate and report facts to the courts for the courts to decide. Wordsmithing notwithstanding. Mueller stepped out of bounds with the statement related to exhonoration. In fact, Comey did not exhonorate Clinton either, he merely wordsmithed the notion that it would take an extraordinary prosecutor to go after her for the crimes that he listed publicly that were committed by her and her staff. If no charges were filed against Trump on the basis of the investigation, then no crimes were committed. It really is that simple. Even charges filed would not signify that crimes had actually been committed, it would signify that a trial to determine guilt would be necessary…investigators do NOT exhonorate those being investigated, they charge, or they do not charge, and then the courts decide innocence or guilt.

    • Unless you are a leftist racist criminal, in that case you don’t get to go to trial, you either get a publicly wordsmithed whitewash of the evidence such that no charges see the light of day, OR you get a sweet deal from the district attourney, a book deal, and speaking tour while hollywood celebrates your life.
