In a stunning last-gasp effort to thwart full vindication of POTUS Donald Trump regarding the very bogus, very fabricated “Russian collusion” hoax, five House Democratic chairpersons are demanding that Attorney General William Barr postpone his Thursday press conference marking the release of special counsel Robert Mueller’s report.
In a letter and joint statement, Democrats outlined the reasons behind their unprecedented demands.
“He should let the full report speak for itself,” the statement read.
“The Attorney General should cancel the press conference and provide the full report to Congress, as we have requested,” the Democrats continued. “With the Special Counsel’s fact-gathering work concluded, it is now Congress’ responsibility to assess the findings and evidence and proceed accordingly.”
For weeks, Left-wing pundits have angrily denounced AG Barr’s plan to brief the media regarding the Mueller report, which has not yet been released.
These are the five Democrats who signed the letter:
- Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.), the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee
- Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee
- Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.), the chairwoman of the House Financial Services Committee
- Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) the chairman of the House Oversight and Reform Committee
- Rep. Eliot Engel (D-N.Y.), the chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee
Obviously, not a Trump ally in the bunch.
After Mueller filed his required report with the attorney general and the Justice Department, Barr released a four-page summary of the special counsel’s findings.
Barr said that according to Mueller’s report, the special counsel completely exonerated POTUS Trump though he couldn’t say one way or another whether the president ‘obstructed justice.’
Democrats have accused Barr of whitewashing Mueller’s findings as a way to ‘cover’ for the president so they’ve been demanding the full unredacted report — which Barr has refused to release, likely because it contains information and witnesses who were promised anonymity in exchange for their testimony and statements and he knows Democrats (like Schiff) will leak portions of the report that are politically expedient to them and damaging to POTUS.
Nadler had tweeted his misgivings about Barr’s plans earlier on Wednesday.
“I’m deeply troubled by reports that the WH is being briefed on the Mueller report AHEAD of its release,” he tweeted.
I’m deeply troubled by reports that the WH is being briefed on the Mueller report AHEAD of its release. Now, DOJ is informing us we will not receive the report until around 11/12 tomorrow afternoon — AFTER Barr’s press conference. This is wrong. #ReleaseTheReport https://t.co/bR50HhGJ0i

Except that it’s not — and Nadler & Co. know this. Barr is under no legal obligation to make one word of the Mueller report public; if he releases any of the report, it’ll be because a) POTUS agreed to it; and b) he thinks it will serve the public interest.
Democrats struck out with Mueller and the “collusion” nonsense — but that was always going to be the conclusion since the Obama regime manufactured the narrative in the first place. All they want now is fresh meat to feed their increasingly unhinged base so they’ll show up at the polls in 2020.
No matter whose reputation they destroy or who they have to hurt.
And, of course, there are those Nunes criminal referrals (of Democrat-aligned Deep State operatives) percolating in the background…
