Nunes smells a rat: Lawmaker demands docs from CIA, NSA, State Dept., after casting DOUBT about Mueller report’s findings regarding Mifsud

By Jon Dougherty

Devin Nunes may only represent a small portion of Californians, but he’s done more for all Americans than just about any other congressman in regards to uncovering the seemingly endless layers of deceit, lies, obfuscation, and skullduggery regarding the deep state coup attempt against POTUS Donald Trump.

On Friday, Nunes continued his quest to expose the guilty with a demand for documents from the NSA, CIA, State Department, and the FBI regarding an operative named Joseph Mifsud after casting doubts on conclusions about his role contained in special counsel Robert Mueller’s report.

Fox News‘ Catherine Herridge and Alex Pappas reported:

House Intelligence Committee ranking member Devin Nunes is scrutinizing the findings in Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report about Joseph Mifsud — the mysterious professor from Malta who helped ignite the Russia probe in 2016 – and wants to know exactly who he was working for when he spoke with former Trump adviser George Papadopoulos.

It has long been suggested that Mifsud was connected to Russian intelligence. But Nunes, in a Friday letter obtained by Fox News, questions that assumption, saying Mueller’s report “omits any mention of a wide range of contacts Mifsud had with Western political institutions and individuals.”

Mifsud is a crucial figure in the report: Mueller’s report states that Mifsud was the one who told Papadopoulos in April 2016 that the Russians had “dirt” in the form of emails that could damage Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign.

As the story goes, Papadopoulos then told Australian diplomat Alexander Downer about his conversations with Mifsud. Downer then informed U.S. officials, leading the FBI to open its investigation into whether Trump associates were coordinating with Russia during the 2016 election.

In addition, the California Republican wants information regarding the FBI’s contacts with Mifsud, and specifically how agents knew to question Papadopoulos regarding Clinton’s emails if they had not already talked to Mifsud.

Nunes — now ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee after being its chairman for the first two years of the Spygate probe — said, “It’s still a mystery how the FBI knew to ask Papadopoulos specifically about Hillary Clinton’s emails.”

Right; it’s as if the bureau knew to ask because it was all…preplanned?

Nunes sent his letter to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Central Intelligence Agency Director Gina Haspel, National Security Agency Director Paul Nakasone and FBI Director Chris Wray. In it, he requests they provide all information they have on Mifsud by May 10.

Nunes, in the letter, also provides photographic evidence of Mifsud in close proximity to influential Western political and government officials, Fox News noted.

“If Mifsud has extensive, suspicious contacts among Russian officials as portrayed in the special counsel’s report, then an incredibly wide range of Western institutions and individuals may have been compromised by him, including our own State Department,” Nunes wrote.

Importantly — and this goes directly to POTUS Trump’s reluctance to simply declassify everything, we’re sure — Nunes added, “In fact, this could entail a major scandal for U.S. and allied governments.”

Mifsud disappeared from the public’s eye after his name began appearing in news reports.

For his part, Nunes said in his letter if Mifsud is no counterintelligence threat, as Mueller implies in his report, he may have dine significant damage to Western national security. He wrote that if that’s correct, it “would cast doubt on the Special Counsel’s fundamental depiction of him and his activities, and raises questions about the veracity of the Special Counsel’s statements and affirmations.”

In other words, Mueller is claiming that Mifsud was a Russian operative; but it’s been reportedly widely that is actually a deep state operative who trains CIA and FBI agents in Italy.

Later, during an appearance on Fox News‘ “Hannity” program, Nunes said:

You recall after the Muller ‘dossier’ came out, I said that we were going to comb through it. One of the first things that we found is they [Mueller’s team] used a news report…a [UK] Guardian news report to claim that the Link Campus* was a place where Mifsud had worked. What they failed to say in that same report is that Mifsud was actually related to Italian intelligence services. So…if you’re Mueller…you don’t get just to report part of what you want in a story, you have to put the entire piece before the American people.

He didn’t do that, so we’re calling him out. This is not how investigations are supposed to be run. When you look into Mifsud closer, Prof. Mifsud…you realize that he is connected with all kinds of intelligence agencies, including our own FBI. In in [my] letter, Sean, you’ll see there’s pictures with FBI agents at the Link Campus where Prof. Mifsud teaches at. So we ask the question…and I’ll sum it up like this…We want to know every document that these agencies have related to Mifsud.

Because if he is, in fact, a Russian agent, this would be one of the biggest intelligence scandals for not only the United States, but also our allies like the Italians, and the Brits and others. Because if Mifsud is a Russian agent, he would know all kinds of our intelligence agents throughout the globe.

He added that he’s given the various agencies a week to produce the requested documents.

Nunes, who has been exposing this Spygate scandal for most of POTUS Trump’s presidency, smells another big, fat rat. But more than anything, his latest exposure provides further evidence that the Obama regime used every intelligence asset possible to stop Donald Trump or keep him from his rightful place in the Oval Office.

And if that doesn’t convince you of just how averse the deep state is to sharing power with an outsider president, nothing will.

Trump Administration has the momentum right now to demand everything related to the hoax investigation. We can’t let this one slide. This Russia collusion production was orchestrated by very powerful people (Obama, Hilary and Co.) and this cronyism needs to stop. And for those people (Apologetic left leaning) stating Trump isn’t any better – So sorry – your wrong and can’t discount the fact that Trump was a target of a huge gov sponsored attack on his personal life and Presidency not because he was a bad person it was because people in power felt threatened. Time to start the… Read more »

So just how did Mueller come to the conclusion that Mifsud is a Russian intelligence agent. What sources did he review and corroborate. What alternative evidence did he overlook because it did not fit the narrative he was trying to bring forward. Mueller who was passed over for FBI director by President Trump and the next day was made Special Counsel was hip deep in Uranium One where there truly was collusion between Obama, Clinton and the Russians. Mueller is deep state and needs to be investigated with all the other swamp creatures.

don’t take their shovel away.
