Nunes calls Mueller report the ‘Mueller dossier’ and a ‘fantasy’ because it relied largely on manufactured fake news

During an appearance Thursday on Fox News‘ midday show, House Intelligence Committee Ranking Member Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) dismissed the report by special counsel Robert Mueller as fantasy, noting that his Democrat-aligned investigators relied largely on ‘news’ reports that were manufactured fake news.

Asked to comment about Democrats’ 12-hour political stunt of reading the less-redacted version of the Mueller report into the House record — rather than focus on things like border security, the defense budget, and infrastructure — Nunes called Mueller’s end product the “Mueller fantasy.”

“I’m glad they’re reading it into the record, because what I call the Mueller report is the ‘Mueller dossier,’ it’s fantasy,” Nunes told Fox News‘ Harris Faulkner. “The American people … paid nearly $40 million for the most powerful law enforcement agency in the world, the FBI, who was working under the direction of the Mueller dossier team, and they supported this with news stories.

“Now, I’m sorry, I don’t pay the FBI or the Mueller dossier team to go out and just get news stories to support their information,” Nunes added.

Several referenced stories within the Mueller report were the results of ‘leaks’ by the deep state to key news agencies and reporters that often went uncorroborated or were simply false, subsequent reporting revealed.

In addition, the California Republican noted that Mueller’s team left out several key details regarding actual ‘collusion’ with Russian sources involving former MI6 spy Christopher Steele, of the infamous “Steele Dossier,” and the campaign of Hillary Clinton, which paid for what amounted to political opposition research.

The dossier was used by James Comey’s FBI to justify FISA court warrants to spy on the 2016 Trump campaign, even though the bureau never corroborated or verified anything in it. Also, by misrepresenting the Steele dossier, FBI and Justice Department officials allegedly engaged in an act of fraud before the FISA court, which would be a crime.

Also, Faulkner asked Nunes to comment on the Trump Justice Department missing a deadline Thursday to turn over the full, unredacted Mueller report to the House on Thursday.

“The documents that I want are the documents that underlie the Mueller dossier,” Nunes said, noting that since House Judiciary Committee chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) has issued a subpoena for the dossier, “they could try to hold somebody in contempt.”

“That would be their next step,” Nunes said, adding, “But remember, we’re not in favor of that.”

He said the “Gang of Eight” congressional leadership has access to the full, unredacted version of the Mueller report already.

Nunes is the tip of the spear, most republican “leaders” are corrupt cowards – Ryan, Mitch, Burr, Gowdy, Goodlatte, Grassley, …
