Former federal prosecutor Joe diGenova, a longtime critic of President Obama’s operation to dislodge and depose POTUS Donald Trump, said in an explosive Memorial Day interview that the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) court is aware of FBI malfeasance and fraud dating back well before “Spygate.”
Noting that FBI Director Christopher Wray and CIA Director Gina Haspel have pushed back against Attorney General William Barr’s efforts to get answers into the origins of the Spygate operation — pushback that led POTUS Trump to grant Barr full authority to declassify all documents related to the attempted coup he saw fit to declassify — diGenova noted that deep state figures have even bigger problems they are “scared to death” will soon be exposed.
“The intelligence community, which includes the FBI, is in full resistance to disclosing what they did during the presidential campaign,” he told his D.C. radio interviewer. “But here’s the other problem they have, and they’re very fearful of.
“The FISA court has already found that there was political spying going on starting in 2012,” he continued. “Not ’15, not ’16…2012. Why was that spying going on in the Obama administration?”
He said “the FBI and CIA desperately fear that if these disclosures become publicly known in a wide-ranging way, their powers may be cut back, FISA may be restricted, and some additional people may go to prison.”
Now it makes much more sense:
— Why former CIA Director John Brennan has regular meltdowns on TV and on Twitter over POTUS Trump and his actions to get to the bottom of what he and Obama did to his campaign;
— Why James Comey was so in the tank for Hillary Clinton;
— Why congressional Democrats are so desperately investigating POTUS and why they won’t let the Russian collusion hoax or imagined ‘obstruction of justice’ go;
— And why the garbage ‘mainstream media,’ recipient of all of this intelligence and co-conspirator, in their own right, to Spygate, are all-in to ‘get’ the president.
DiGenova also noted that FBI Director Christopher Wray “is now standing in the way of history” because he is resisting all attempts by the Trump administration and Barr to get to the truth.
“Make no mistake about it, Christopher Wray has become an enemy of the people,” he added.
DiGenova teased the bit about the FISA court last month without much fanfare. We reported at the time:
…[He] appeared on The Ingraham Angle to discuss a couple of bombshells related to under-the-radar investigations that are coming to conclusions — involving fired FBI Director James Comey and others including mastermind and former CIA Director John Brennan.
“This is pretty simple stuff for career prosecutors like Rudy [Giuliani, the president’s personal lawyer] and myself. It has been evident since day one that there has been a brazen plot to exonerate Hillary Clinton illegally and then if she lost the election, to frame Donald Trump,” said diGenova.
“This dossier was a knowing part of that. It was created by Hillary Clinton. It was created knowingly by John Brennan as part of a scheme to do everything they could to harm Donald Trump. The problem for Brennan and [former Director of National Intelligence James] Clapper and Comey and [former FBI lawyer James] Baker and all of them now is the FISA Court has already communicated with the Justice Department about its findings,” he continued.
Specifically, diGenova indicated that judges on the FISA court who may have been involved in approving the counterintelligence surveillance on onetime Trump campaign adviser Carter Page — and who were duped into granting the warrant based on the very bogus “Russia dossier” — have been in contact with Attorney General William Barr’s office.
“And their findings are that for more than four years before the election of Donald Trump there was an illegal spying operation going on by FBI contractors, four of them, to steal information on Americans and to use it against the Republican Party,” diGenova said, in revealing something that few people outside of the inner Trump circle were aware of.
“There are going to be indictments. There are going to be grand juries. John Brennan is not going to need one lawyer. He’s going to need five,” he added.
The next day, April 27, we reported that POTUS Trump also teased some bombshells:
In response to a question from a reporter about his earlier “coup” comments, the president hinted strongly that new details that have yet to be released to the public are definitely forthcoming.
“Oh, I think absolutely,” POTUS said when asked if ‘coup’ is an accurate description of what has taken place regarding events that have occurred up to this point including the recently completed special counsel investigation and revelations regarding key FBI and Justice Department figures.
“If you look at what’s been happening and all the things you’ve been seeing with the ‘insurance policy’ statement from two [FBI] agents that are now gone [Peter Strzok and FBI lawyer Lisa Page], if you look at many of the elements of intrigue and…frankly, we’re going to be seeing a lot over the next couple of weeks, things that a lot of people haven’t seen.”
Many of the president’s supporters — burned by past statements and declarations that ‘justice is coming’ for the Spygate co-conspirators — have been skeptical that Barr will find anyone guilty enough to charge and prosecute.
We don’t have a crystal ball, so we can’t say for sure. But what we do believe is that this is the farthest any president has gone to expose the Deep State for what it is — a criminal enterprise operating above the law and by its own rules — in recent memory.
