Oh, the optics of watching ABC News morning show host George Stephanopoulos, who has been a shill for Bill and Hillary Clinton since he worked in the former president’s administration, badger POTUS Donald Trump Wednesday about whether he would accept campaign dirt on a political opponent from a foreign source.
You can’t get any more hypocritical than this, but of course, the blatant irony was lost on most of Stephanopoulos’ Democrat-supporting viewers. I’ll explain.
In typical set-up fashion, because he just thinks he’s so clever that way, Stephanopoulos asked POTUS Trump would call the FBI or accept information on his opponent from a foreign power.
Hell yes, the president said. Cue the outrage!
“I think maybe you do both.”
But…but…but…the Clinton water carrier stammered.
“I think you might want to listen, there isn’t anything wrong with listening,” Trump continued. “If somebody called from a country, Norway, [and said] ‘we have information on your opponent’ — oh, I think I’d want to hear it.”
But…but..do you really want that kind of foreign “interference” in our elections? asked the water boy.
Yes, he asked with a straight face.
“It’s not … interference, they have information…If I thought there was something wrong, I’d go maybe to the FBI — if I thought there was something wrong,” POTUS Trump responded.
“But when somebody comes up with oppo research, right, they come up with oppo research, ‘oh let’s call the FBI.’ The FBI doesn’t have enough agents to take care of it. When you go and talk, honestly, to congressman, they all do it, they always have, and that’s the way it is. It’s called oppo research,” he added.
Granted, the White House and the president should not have agreed to this interview because Stephanopoulos is famous for these ‘gotcha’ type of interviews. But no matter; a plurality of the country already believes that Trump “colluded” with Russia to “steal the election” so it wouldn’t have mattered much if he hadn’t done it.
You know, George, like the kind that your former first lady, Hillary Clinton, bought and paid for…using Russian sources…and employing a British spy.
Call us kooky, but boy, that surrrre sounds like “foreign interference” to us. And yet, George, you flat-out refuse to hold her accountable for the same thing you’re trying to accuse POTUS Trump of doing.
Amazing. Really, just amazing. But it helps explain why the vast majority of Americans no longer take these pretend journalists seriously and why talker and constitutional expert Mark Levin’s new book, “Unfreedom of the Press,” is No. 1 for the third week in a row.
