(NationalSentinel) Looks like the little commies who run GoFundMe don’t need to be bothered with an investigation or trial to decide that a white South Bend, Ind., police sergeant is guilty of murdering a black suspect earlier this month.
They’ve already decided he’s at least guilty of a “hate crime,” and as such, have canceled a fundraiser set up for his potential legal defense.
As reported by PJ Media:
The crowdfunding website GoFundMe canceled a fundraiser supporting the defense of South Bend Police Sgt. Ryan O’Neill, the white police officer who shot and killed Erick Logan, a 54-year-old black man. O’Neill alleged that Logan was breaking into cars with an 8-inch knife and threatened him before the officer had to shoot in self-defense. O’Neill was wearing his body camera but did not turn it on. Black Lives Matter activists have called for O’Neill to be fired.
As we reported earlier, South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg, a 2020 Democratic presidential contender, has also thrown his department — and Sgt. O’Neill — under the bus after claiming that his department has a ‘racism’ problem, much to the chagrin of the force itself and Fraternal Order of Police president for South Bend Harvey Mills.
During an appearance on Fox News‘ “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” Harvey Mills of the South Bend Fraternal Order of Police said the incident had nothing to do with “skin color,” but rather centered around an officer defending himself against a felony suspect who was attempting to attack him with an eight-inch knife.
In a speech in Chicago at the Rainbow PUSH Coalition with the Rev. Jesse Jackson Monday, Buttigieg claimed that he has been ‘working’ to fix a racial disparity on the majority-white force, noting that “young African Americans not trusting police and therefore not wanting to become police officers” is one reason why NPR reported.
Buttigieg said in his speech that South Bend is a “city that has known its measure of pain.” He added that he has worked to increase police professionalism, decrease bias, increase de-escalation tactics, but “whatever we’ve done has not been enough.”
“This is not just a political problem and it is not just a police problem and it is not just my problem or my city’s problem. And it is certainly not a black problem. This is an American problem, demanding nationwide solutions,” he claimed.
“You know, he used the term ‘systemic racism,’” Mills noted. “Maybe he doesn’t understand the definition of ‘systemic.’ We do. That means he’s basically called all police officers racist, and that is blatantly untrue.”
“There’s no indication there’s systemic racism within our police department,” said Mills. “That’s ridiculous.”
GoFundMe commies, however, have decided otherwise.
“Anti-police activists must have pressured GoFundme into canceling our campaign to help Sgt. Ryan O’Neill pay for his legal defense in a civil lawsuit filed against him,” Mills said in a statement. “Shockingly, GoFundMe told us that they canceled the campaign because it was in support of a hate crime.
“This is fundamentally wrong and I’m shocked that a company would accuse a police officer of a hate crime simply for defending himself from an armed attacker,” Mills added.
“I find it truly offensive that GoFundMe would cancel our campaign to defend a police officer who hasn’t been accused of a crime while they freely allow violent groups like Antifa to raise money to support criminal acts that have been on the news recently,” he added — likely a reference to the beating and robbing of Quillette journalist Andy Ngo in Portland on Saturday.
There is some good news: Mills launched another fundraiser on Fundly, raising more than $33,000 in less than 24 hours.
“Sgt. Ryan O’Neill is being vilified by anti-police activists and Democrat Mayor and presidential hopeful Pete Buttigieg for defending his life when he was attacked by a convicted felon armed with an eight-inch hunting knife,” the petition says.
The American Left is not now, nor has it ever been, any different than the Communist, Marxist, and Socialist Left the world over. They’ve just become far less covert about it in the age of POTUS Trump.
