(NationalSentinel) ‘Officially,’ viewership numbers for Fox News‘ live broadcast of President Donald Trump’s patriotic-themed July 4 “Salute to America” event in Washington, D.C. are not in, but we suspect there is a reason for that.
We suspect that the viewership numbers for the event will be, shall we say, eventful. Significant. Large.
Here’s what leads us to believe this:
— We already know that the traditional “Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular” on NBC drew far fewer viewers this year compared with last year (when the president did not host a similar event).
NBC’s broadcast of the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular on Thursday drew 5.9 million total viewers and a 0.9 demo rating, down 20 and 25 percent from last year’s numbers (yet still leading the suuuuper-quiet night in both measures).
Why is it still leading? Because, as the entertainment site noted later in the article, ratings for the president’s event, solely carried live on Fox News had yet to be released.
— If the president’s event had bombed even a little bit, the “mainstream” media networks would have been blaring headlines and stories all day long trumpeting that fact.
— To that last point, we find it suspicious that there are already numbers for NBC’s Macy’s broadcast…but none for the Fox News broadcast. If there wasn’t so much anti-Trump bias in the news and entertainment business (sometimes the two are hard to tell apart), and the Trump event flopped, we’d have seen them by now.
That hasn’t stopped Trump-deranged Leftists from attempting to downplay the significance of the president’s event or the numbers of people who attended.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) tweeted to her cult-like followers that the Salute to America event was poorly attended.
The Western Journal noted:
Democratic socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York took a shot at President Donald Trump on Friday morning, claiming he wasted money on his “poorly attended” Independence Day parade while holding migrant children “hostage to secure billions for their abusers.”
But Ocasio-Cortez failed to get her facts straight first.
“Trump spent millions on a poorly attended, 1 day parade days after saying he couldn’t afford toothpaste & soap for caged children,” the progressive congresswoman tweeted. “Did he ask Congress for military parade [money]? No.”

Did he ask Congress for military parade💰? No.
Trump held these kids hostage to secure billions for their abusers. Congress needs to see that.

Photos and video of the event show a far different story, namely, that the event was very well attended.
“The event defied the critics who said the celebration on Thursday would be a partisan political spectacle that would not even attract a significant crowd. CBS, ABC, NBC and MSNBC snubbed the celebration and didn’t air it live, save for their online streaming platforms,” Fox News reported.
Did you catch that? As NewsBusters notes, none of the major networks bothered to carry any of the president’s event:
In a move that’s not shocking, considering how the mainstream media feels about Donald Trump, MSNBC and the networks will not carry his Fourth of July address to the nation.
Instead, the liberal cable channel and the network news on ABC, CBS and NBC will only show clips from the event, which is still being carried in real time by their respective online and app streaming platforms, as well as the Fox News Channel and C-SPAN.
Looked pretty well attended to us.
in fairness to Trump the crowd size doesn't appear to be horrible pic.twitter.com/5oTXCrrDTb

Graham Ledger, host of “The Daily Ledger” on One America News Network, tweeted this:

Talking Points USA’s Charlie Kirk added some more context:
Despite the left’s best attempts at destroying a salute to America, the place is PACKED!

Again, we don’t have viewership numbers yet — and honestly, we wouldn’t be surprised if they were fudged — but our gut instinct tells us that the president’s viewership numbers on Fox News were a lot stronger than the Left predicted, otherwise we’d have known them by now.
