Democrat obstructionism is working: ICE agents fail to make ANY arrests in NYC during early deportation operations

By Jon Dougherty

(NationalSentinel) For days in anticipation of the launching of operations by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents to locate and remove people in the country illegally who have been ordered out by federal courts, Democrats and Left-wing pro-open borders groups have been “advising” illegal aliens how to avoid being taken into custody.

The most important thing, illegal immigrants were advised by Democratic governors, mayors, and congresspeople, is to simply refuse to open their doors when ICE agents come knocking.

That’s because they won’t have search warrants for the premises, therefore ‘legally,’ illegal aliens don’t have to open their doors for federal agents.

According to early reports, Democratic advice to illegal aliens as to how they can continue to break federal law appears to be working.

According to the New York Daily News, federal agents began deportation operations in Brooklyn’s Sunset Park. But after ringing several doorbells in one apartment building, they later left without taking any illegal aliens into custody.

Meanwhile, The Wall Street Journal reports that agents were turned away because they showed up without warrants. A similar situation occurred in Harlem, the Journal noted.

“As they were leaving, we heard them say, ‘We’ll be back,’” one woman from Sunset Park told the Daily News.

Asked for comment by the Journal, an ICE representative said: “As always, ICE prioritizes the arrest and removal of unlawfully present aliens who pose a threat to national security, public safety and border security.”

The Saturday operations came a day before they were ‘supposed’ to start. President Donald Trump tried a head fake as he left the White House on a campaign trip to Wisconsin and Ohio. “It starts on Sunday, and they’re going to take people out and they’re going to bring them back to their countries,” he said. “We’re focused on criminals as much as we can, before we do anything else.

“ICE is law enforcement, they are great patriots, they have a tough job. Nothing to be secret about. If the word gets out, it gets out,” he added.

Left-wing NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio — who no doubt expects New Yorkers to obey his city’s laws — tweeted that he will do everything in his power to “protect” illegal aliens from being deported by ICE, claiming the president has turned the agency into “a political weapon against our immigrant communities.”

“To everyone worried this weekend: this is your city,” he wrote. “We will do everything we can to protect you.”

De Blasio isn’t alone, of course. Democrat mayors and governors all over the country are ‘warning’ illegal aliens in their communities what to do if ICE agents show up on their doorstep.

Supporters of POTUS Trump’s enforcement efforts say that amounts to blatant obstruction of justice and that everyone who is ‘advising’ and encouraging people to avoid federal enforcement agents should be charged accordingly, under federal law.

It’s not clear the Justice Department is prepared to do that, but recalling how POTUS Trump has managed to manipulate his political opponents in the past, it seems likely he is working some sort of strategy after head faking on when the ICE operations would begin.

What is clear, however, is that Democrat interference is, initially, having the desired effect. Now — what happens if an ICE agent is ambushed or otherwise attacked and killed or injured by an illegal alien after being warned by a Democrat politician?

The way Democrats have demonized the men and women of ICE — and given that an ICE detention facility was attacked on Saturday by a Left-wing nut job who first assaulted a police officer during a protest hours earlier — this is a distinct possibility.
