Yes, the Tacoma, Wash., ICE facility attacker was an ‘anti-fascist’ ‘anarchist’ — but you won’t see that in the ‘mainstream’ media

By Jon Dougherty

(NationalSentinel) Remember the name Willem Van Spronsen of Vashon Island, Wash. He very well could be the first casualty in the Alt-Left’s war against the American civil society using the issue of illegal immigration as the impetus.

Though you won’t read about this in any of the “Mainstream” media publications or see it broadcast on establishment media cable news outlets, Van Spronsen, who attacked an ICE detention facility in Tacoma, Wash., Saturday hours after a demonstration against the facility, was an “anti-fascist” “anarchist” who was triggered by the Trump administration’s ongoing efforts to enforce all of our immigration laws.

That, and the grossly inaccurate portrayals of Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention facilities by the likes of Left-wing nut jobs Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib, and Ilhan Omar, all three of whom can’t seem to express their hatred for America often enough.

Pledge your vote NOW for President Trump in 2020!

But hey — don’t take our word for it. Per The Seattle Times:

Deb Bartley, a friend of Van Spronsen’s for about 20 years, described him as an anarchist and anti-fascist, and she believes his attack on the detention center was intended to provoke a fatal conflict.

“He was ready to end it,” Bartley said. “I think this was a suicide. But then he was able to kind of do it in a way that spoke to his political beliefs … I know he went down there knowing he was going to die.”

She and other friends of Van Spronsen got letters in the mail “just saying goodbye.” He also wrote what she referred to as a manifesto, which she declined to discuss in detail but predicted would be taken by authorities.

The Times noted that Van Spronsen showed up at the facility hours after a protest with a rifle and “incendiary devices” — firebombs, essentially. He managed to ignite some vehicles before an employee at the facility noticed what he was doing — and that he was armed — and called police. The encounter ended with Van Spronsen’s death.

Here’s how it all transpired, according to the Times:

A protest outside the federal immigration detention center in Tacoma last year drew headlines when a 68-year-old man wrapped his arms around a police officer’s throat and shoulders in an apparent attempt to free another protester.

When police got the man into handcuffs, they found a collapsible baton and knife in his pocket, leading to criminal charges.

Early Saturday morning, that man, Willem Van Spronsen of Vashon Island, returned to the Northwest Detention Center, the holding facility for the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, this time armed with a rifle and incendiary devices, according to Tacoma police.

Police said Van Spronsen tossed lit objects at vehicles and buildings, causing one car fire, and unsuccessfully tried to ignite a propane tank.

Officers were called by an ICE employee who saw the rifle. Soon after they arrived, officers reported “shots fired,” said Tacoma police spokeswoman Loretta Cool, although it is unclear who fired first or if Van Spronsen fired at all. The Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office classified his death as a homicide.

That last portion — that the medical examiner’s office is classifying the anarchist’s death as a “homicide” — could turn into something negative for officers and could provide even more fuel to the simmering fire on the Left over the issue of illegal immigration enforcement. Even the Times acknowledged that:

Immigration is increasingly a flashpoint American politics, and Van Spronsen’s death came on the eve of Sunday’s planned national raid by ICE targeting thousands of undocumented immigrant families who the government said missed court hearings or who had received removal notices.

Some have even compared the societal battle over illegal immigration and the Trump administration’s efforts to enforce the law to 18th century slavery, when rival factions argued over its morality — an argument that turned into a hot civil war when Southern states seceded over the issue.

Then as now, rival factions claim the high moral ground, though clearly the vast majority of Americans believe that enforcing immigration laws is not only the ‘moral’ thing to do, but something they expect our government to be doing.

Then again, a minority of Northerners and Southerners — like a minority of colonists led the Revolutionary War — were responsible for our most deadly conflict.

So it’s possible that this immigration issue could eventually flare into more attacks on ICE facilities, which will, at some point, lead to counterattacks against the “anti-fascist” anarchy-loving fascists responsible. Violence begets violence.

As for Van Spronsen, The Right Scoop notes he is getting high praise from Antifa types on social media:

Not only did an Antifa terrorist die while committing an act of left-wing political violence against a government facility, but all of his Antifa buddies are praising him as a hero.

The war to free the slaves began with lots of heated rhetoric in the public square of the day, the published word. Social media ‘bots’ and ‘trolls’ being what they are, it’s clear that there is a growing faction of Left-wing anarchists who believe in, and support, this kind of armed action against a wrongly demonized federal agency.

And because our ‘establishment’ media won’t report this issue honestly and truthfully, they serve as enablers for the hard Left and co-conspirators to the coming violence.
